New Zealand Premier League XIII

He has potential though, he's only 19? And I thought he was more of a bowler rather than a batsman... But yes I thought you picked him mostly because he was a Cantabrian :laugh

As far as I know he's a batting all-rounder.
Kind of like Craig McMillan.

He's old thats why :laugh

Didn't he win that competition for being the fastest school boy bowler a few years ago? And that was why he got the Canterbury contract? I suppose that doesn't really mean he's not a batting all-rounder though.

im surprised brad hodge hasn't been picked before.

He's got good domestic stats, but can't really make the Australian team.
I'd say there are better, but he's not the worst pick.

Well he's only bowled twice in 19 List A/Twenty20 matches.
I know he's had some injury problems, which may of stopped him from bowling.

Averaging 10 though :laugh

I suppose irrotev will know better than anyone else. I'm still debating over whether to get a batsman and a bowler or a 2 bowlers...

Well Watling, Morgan, and Watson are all top order batsmen, so really you got eight top order player's, while you only got four bowler's probably going for three spots.
I'd say get two bowlers (maybe one spin and one pace), but it's up to you.

He's a genuine all-rounder. He's as good with ball as with Bat however he has indeed had injury problems which have stopped him bowling. Also the step up to FC as a bowler is much tougher than as a batsman - you go from bowling a few speels a day to bowling 3 or 4 and playing for 4 days in a row so they obviously don't want him bowling too much at this stage. It's a batsmen's game hahaha.

By the way, shouldn't Hamish Marshall and Matthew Sinclair be down as bowling part-time medium pace, and Simon Katich as part-time left arm spin? Martin Guptill doesn't bowl enough to be counted as part-time off-spin I suppose. I remember Marshall taking 3 or 4 wickets in an innings over the summer during one of the tests :)

I don't want every single player being able to bowl, that's why I only let player's bowl who've bowled enough in the one-day game.

Hamish Marshall in List A cricket is averaging one ball a game, and hasn't bowled in 36 Twenty20's.

Mathew Sinclair is averaging under one ball a game in List A cricket, and has only bowled once in 34 Twenty20's.

I has actually going to put Simon Katich down as part-time bowler, buts he's never bowled in 45 ODI's and 43 Twenty20's.

If you think a certain batsmen should be down as a part-time bowler, please feel free to say and I'll look them up.

We are now just waiting on rahulkhush, Aussie Team and BKB1991 to make their picks.

Remember guys you must have at least two Wicket-Keeper's in your squad, with at least one being Full-time.
