New Zealand Premier League XIII

The keeper is mandatory. All-rounder is recommended.

Ok.. Will do that.

The quality of the international player's this season, is quite a lot down compared to what it was last season.
None of Tamim Iqbal, Brad Hodge, Ajit Agarkar, Simon Katich, and Liam Plunkett should really end up being in your squads at this stage, as there are much better player's still available.
The later four of those player's can't even make their international one-day sides.
After the draft I'll be recommending some free agent trades some of you should make.

When will it start?

Katich is one of the most underrated players in the world. Tamim Iqbal was a risky draft pick but you never know. I wasn't regaining Strauss after his poor season last season. At the moment, a likely Starting XI is:

1. Tim McIntosh
2. Kumar Sangakkara/Tamim Iqbal
3. Ricky Ponting
4. Neil Broom
5. Grant Elliott^
6. Peter Fulton/Daniel Flynn/Gareth Hopkins
7. Dwayne Bravo^
8. Nathan Hauritz^
9. Kyle Mills^
10. James Anderson^
11. Lance Shaw^

Tamim could go well I reckon. I was wondering why no-one had Strauss, it seems like he would be one of the players Callum was talking about.

I can't decide who I'm going to put in my starting XI...my international players make it a difficult decision.

Still I could easily play:

1. Tim McIntosh
2. Peter Fulton
3. Daniel Flynn
4. Neil Broom
5. Grant Elliott^
6. Kumar Sangakkara+
7. Dwayne Bravo^
8. Nathan Hauritz^

9. Kyle Mills^
10. James Anderson^
11. Kemar Roach^

And then put in a poor pitch. My NZ batting lineup is pretty strong with all having International experience and if I was any batsman, I wouldn't be wanting to go up against a bowling lineup of Roach, Anderson, Mills, Hauritz and even Bravo.

I can understand Hodge, and maybe Katich, but Iqbal? Plunkett? Agarkar (lol)!?

I'm sure Iqbal will show everyone up by averaging over 50 guiding the team to a finals victory.

Iqbal will fail, horribly. If he scores two half centuries all season then you've got your moneys worth and then some. :p

BKB's online so he should post his picks soon

Damn I was going to go Graeme Swann!

Um...
