btw i dont get why you would need the ranfurly shield.

Just to add something new to the league, and because of what the ranfurly shield does for provincial rugby in real life.
I never actually thought about it, but now that I do I think it's a great idea.

237 is actually a great total on a poor pitch.
As you can see the likes of Ponting and Collingwood both had S/R's of under 60, while your top four all had S/R's of over 60, it was just a flukey Jayasuriya knock that won them the match.

I dont know about this shield thing, please clear it out.

The Ranfurly Shield, colloquially known as the Log o' Wood, is the most prestigious trophy in New Zealand's domestic rugby union competition. First played for in 1904, the Ranfurly Shield is based on a challenge system, rather than a league or knockout competition as with most football trophies. The holding union must defend the Shield in challenge matches, and if a challenger defeats them, they become the new holder of the Shield.

Pretty much the Shield will be on the line at all of the holders home matches, except during knockout playoffs. If a challenger successfully takes the Shield, all of their home matches for the rest of the season are defences of it.

Actually I might introduce the Shield at the end of this coming round.
If I do it'll start with the team that's currently on the most number of wins, and if that's the same, it'll go down to NRR.

Any ideas, I've used up all the decent names on the prizes...
I've already used Crowe, Fleming, Hadlee, Bond, Reid, and Cairns.

If it's named after anybody, it should be Hadlee, so I'll probably change one of the bowling awards to Cowie.
