In terms of the tournament format, I'm going to go with the conference format. So there will be two conferences of four teams, where you verse the teams in your own conference twice and the teams in the other conference once.

Are you all fine with a North (Ack/Wai/BoP/HB)/South (Tar/Wel/Can/Otg) split of the teams to determine the conferences?

That conference split is fine, easiest way to go about it.

The advantage of having an auction first is that now there isn't really much difference between the next lot of domestic (and international) players, so where you pick isn't going to matter that much.

I'm just looking through the domestic player list now and there's about eight players who stand out, so it's probably going to be more of a case of someone getting disadvantaged who picks a poor player, rather that someone missing out on a better player because they pick last.
