New Zealand Premier League XIII

Lol, I just realised Ross Taylor bowled an over in the last game.
I'll try and find out why that was...

I've opened up in a thread in the social group for your round three line-ups.
You'll have a week to post them, and when I get back I'll be sending no reminders if you forgot to post your team.

We posted a decent total but the bowlers were pathetic to say the least :facepalm

What is the maximum points, any player can get each game???

Well, there's no limit to that but a 5-wicket haul can fetch you about 50-70 points depending on other factors too (like the quality of the batsmen dismissed, runs conceeded, etc) and a big ton can fetch you the same as well.

As you can see,Martin Guptill who has scored 2 ducks in the first two games has been dropped.
James Franklin, who bowled well in the warm up games was terrible with the ball in the last game, which has cost him his place in the side.
Zaheer Khan has been recalled to lead the pack which is depleted after the loss of Shane Bond.
Butler has been promoted up the order after Afridi's series of failures with the bat.

3 batsmen but only one bowler- Chris Martin in the list, which sums up our story so far this season.
Having said that, this break has come at the right time for us.
We'll re-group and come back stronger next week.
I'll change the line up later this week if required after a team meeting between me,Stephen Fleming and some VIPs. :D

Jesse Ryder... ;)

Well, actually i didn't want to reveal this but i'll do it anyway :sarcasm
Those VIPs include some of the ex-WTB players like M.S.Dhoni, Ross Taylor and Shane Bond.
Though they have been drafted to other teams this season, they still stay in touch with us and are desperate to join us again next season.;)

Jesse Ryder will go camping (about an hour north of Auckland, where there is no internet) with his family during this break and thus will miss the team meeting :p:laugh

Great stuff mate, keep it up... ;)

Got off to a good start as Bond took the attack to the Thunderbolts batsman. Their experienced players, Ryder and Fleming took the game back from us, we did take wickets but they got good partnerships. Bond was the pick of the bowlers, while O'Brien is starting to find his feet in this format of the game. Hopefully Swann and the others join the party.

Didnt get of to a good start as Sinclair failed to continue from his 50 in the previous game. Redmond again got a start but didnt go on and we looked in a tough position there. But from there, we didnt look back. AB and Clarke, the players of the next decade, started an important and an aggresive partnership. Feel for Clarke he deserved a century too. Symonds and Styris took us home with nearly 10 overs to spare, considering we were chasing near to 300

No I was too good for you :p

I rate your team highly, alot of strong NZ players backed my some stronger international players. It was a case of a strong performance from AB and Clarke that got us through in the end

We need a new ACTIVE owner for the Waikato Warriors, as HarishanV can no longer manage them... :(

Is anyone interested in taking them???
