New Zealand Premier League XIII

Well played Waikato, congratulations on a well deserved triumph.

Unfortunately for us,this is the second time we've gone down to Waikato (in an emphatic manner too) in the grand final.

Obviously,a bit disappointed on choking but no regrets. We've been able to maintain the level of consistency we would want to be remembered for,in case this was the very last NZPL game (which I dearly hope is not).Although,we'll probably be remembered just as much for choking. That makes this a historic game, evident from the way both teams gave it their all.

Awesome season again (despite the break, which didn't take much fun away) ,I had a really great time managing my favourite team in my all-time favourite league.Remember all the previous seasons like they took place yesterday.

So,just hoping that we'll have another season somewhere down the line, however long it might take. :)

I'll probably try to start another season in July. Obviously it won't be as long as this season, so either a single round robin with eight teams or a double round robin with six teams.

A possibility would be a six team competition like our OD domestic competition in real life. Because the current format has all of the big international players, it doesn't give much opportunity for the younger New Zealand players to perform, so like in real life each team would just have a couple of random international players that are yet to play or no longer play international cricket.

What a way to end a marvelous season!

The effort our bowlers put in after their top three were looking good was nothing but solid.

Williamson and Kohli continued to score runs followed by handy knocks by AB de Villiers and the skipper himself Mike Hussey lead us to fantastic victory.

Everything went in our favor after Round 6 onwards which is something to cheer about, we were the underdogs at the start of the season and It's even a better feeling when the underdogs turn out to be the champions.

A well managed season by Callum, I enjoyed every bit of it and I'll be looking forward to the next season. :thumbs

Hard luck to Sartaj as well, your's were certainly one of the strongest sides in the competition and defeating you guys wasn't easy at all. You always gave us a hard time and we'll be looking forward to play you guys in the next season. :)

Aces please love them

Claiming Otago, if that's okay with you Callum.

And how's about something like this for an All-Star series?

Yeah, I'll definitely be looking to do something like that again since the season is only going to be 32 matches (10 rounds of 3 matches, 2nd verses 3rd, and the winner of that verses 1st). I've done a couple of them in the past, here (towards the bottom of that post) and here, but the interest in them has been average at best hence why they've never become a permanent fixture.

I'll be starting off the season today by posting the updated NZPL career statistics of these players. I want to give every player a separate post though, so hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm spamming the thread too much. Also if you want to see any players stats that aren't listed in that link, please tell me and I'll post theirs up as well.

Btw sorry guys but no teams are available. I've got all of the mangers confirmed but I'm just sorting out who gets what team hence why there are some "?" on the first post.
