I still think de Villiers is only a bit better than Sangakkara and Sangakkara is a full time keeper and I had offered Elliott or Broom as well for either Styris or Redmond.

Not at all!
I traded all my top overseas players (Dhoni,Bracken,etc) for the likes of Fleming and Martin last season but the overseas talent completely overshadowed the local as 5 of them are allowed to feature in the playing xi.

My team was the strongest in terms of local talent with all the local players having represented the black caps.
Ryder,Fleming,Guptill,McMillan,Franklin,Butler,Martin... i had them all!
But ended up last in the points table while Canterbury,who had top overseas players like Dhoni and Hawke's Bay who had Steyn,Sehwag,Flintoff,etc did very well.

Having said that,i'm pretty happy with my squad this season.

The top NZ batsmen (Taylor, Fleming etc), are rated slightly less than the top INT batsmen (Tendulkar, Ponting etc).
While the top NZ bowlers (Bond, Vettori etc), are rated among the top bowlers overall.

The problem lies in finding the right balance between the NZ DOM players, and the INT players.
