Who will be the next world superpower. Australia will most likely remain up the top until at least after the 2006/2007 Ashes Series and the 2007 World Cup, but when Australia has to start it's redevelopment stage (many of the players are currently in their mid-30's and will be retiring soon), if someone was to take over that reign after that who do you think it would be?

Its going to be tough..Pakistan will lose Inzi most probably, Australia are losing alot of players, India will lose Tendulkar and Dravid. Because i like Pak i choose them..:p

I'm surprised south africa are not on the list because they have a lot of young talent coming in.Gibbs,Pollock and Kallis have about four or even five years left.So by then they will have a good team and will be back to their best

Basically all good players will retire
Australia- alomst the entire team
India- all top cricketers whom they heavily rely on
Pakistan- Inzi, youhan, maybe shoaib ...but they would be in the top 3

SA have no chance nor do the west indies.
sri lanka will ose murali and sanath

so mot probably it has to be the kiwis who are building themselves into a goodish team,i must say.

Australia has a good team, but don't think when these top players will disappear, Australia will lose their superiority. These youngsters are not coming through, because Australia has that much great players. When these players retire, they have plenty of back up.

From the current situation I see England and Pakistan as the one who can pose a threat to Australia. But my first choice is obviously Pakistan.

India. For the simple reason that they have really good youngsters in already.

India has Sehwag,Yuvraj,Kaif,Dhoni ,Pathan,Balaji ,Harbhajan who will be there till say 2011 WC at the least.

Some others who would make the cut but ppl from other countries wont know are there.

Indians have a good bench strength .

New Zealand I dont think would be the same force post 2007 WC seeing the series against Australia.THier weak bench strength was quite visible there.

Also dont count the Aussies out as they have the Academy system and it will churn out good international cricketers from time to time .Latest example being Hussey

Never write off the Aussies.

Or us English.

Not many old players in either side. Gough is out of the equation obviously.

Vaughan 29 as is Tres.

Plenty of young bowlers.

Plunkett 20 year old who already averages 85MPH accurate to.

Bell is 22.
Young leg spinner at Yorkshire.

The 'A' sides need to get around more often, so we can easily see who is up and coming for each country.
