No patch for AC09 - officially confirmed

This is a sad day indeed...!!!

We have 2 options here. One is that Codies and all involved were actually trying to get this out to us but eventually it simply was not possible. The other side of it is that Codies knew all along that this was dead, once Transmission went belly up, but thought they could drag it out and make it seem like they were doing something when all along they were not...

If they have been "so close" to getting the patch finished surely they could allocate some funds to other programmers at Codies to finish the job. After all one programmers is the same as another, especially when you have the finished code???

Please don't try and tell me that someone outside of Transmission couldn't do it...!!!

I just wonder if any company will "EVER" put out a patch that really does fix the shortfalls that we always find in initial releases???

I just hope that the next AC is bigger and better. More teams, more stadiums, more choices, more editbility and definately fixing those issues in the game. Basically want cricket 2004 stuff with AC09 gameplay and graphics.

bad news
i am not going to buy any codies game now
I really liked the game and without delivering the patch they have wasted this game
nevermind
No other cricket game is there
Cricket fans are so unlucky that they don't get any good game
Ashes 2009 was a dream and that too had this bad news
Alright
I would like to thank everybody i played with
Really enjoyed playing with you guys

Had a few good games with you my man. It is sad but lets be honest if they do bring out a new game we will buy it: we always will and we always do!

DarkBoyBlunder was a decent guy who just tried to do his job, and went beyond and above the call of duty.

Firth, you are one snide, smarmy little worm. I'd like to take that shyster little smirk of yours and put it back where it belongs. The last thing the cricket gaming community needed was a twat like you leading us down the garden path with that car-salesman smile and ridiculous haircut. F*ck you.

Who's Firth ?

Damn you Codemasters!

AC09 promised so much, but Codies has failed to give it those finishing touches.

That being said, they've left us with a gem of a game to work with.

Can we make and share patches now? Surely we can fix this game on our own?

Too harsh Captain in my opinion and uncalled for to insult someone like that. I mean you can have an opinion about things but why so personal?? I take Colin's word for it that he has genuinely tried to push something through. Colin has had a lot of contact with him and if he says that he has really wanted to organise something I will go with that.

I have been in contact with Jamie Firth and I know not everyone will believe me but I believe that he did everything he could to try and get the patch delivered.
Codies did more in creating this patch in collaberation with PC than any game company has done before and to blame them for Transmission's demise seems wholly unfair.
Very sad people won't get to see how great the patch was as Darkboyblunder and HSmith1978 and others did a wonderful job.
Sad but not wholly unexpected.

I cant honestly believe you are still defending codis, was it our fault they released a unfinished game !!! get real man ..

He is not necessarily defending Codemasters as such but the people with whom he had a lot of contact and obviously feels that they were genuine in their intentions. I am of the opinion of wanting to take his word for it as Colin has proven time and time again to be a person with integrity.

I already know this a week ago. It's sad but it's really not the fault of Codies. Thank you Codemasters for at least putting some efforts. :)
