Daniel Vettori has taken out the Performance of the Tournament award, for his stirling effort of 4 overs, 0 maidens, 4 wickets for 13 runs for the Northern Eagles against the Tasmania Diablos in the Final Qualifier. Perhaps the least startling performance on paper of the four options, but maybe the voters took into account the significance of his effort - the other three performances were probably less crucial to their team's success in the tournament.
And the Player of the Tournament prize goes to Eoin Morgan. Averaging a whopping 112 and fourth on the run-scoring chart, Morgan was instrumental in the Stallions' first equal placing, right up to the final. He is one of the most innovative and captivating players in the world right now and has the potential to take all three forms of international cricket by storm!
Finally, the OPL Trophy is presented jointly to the Southern Stallions and Northern Eagles!
