Report all your hat-tricks by part-time bowlers here. Do they happen a lot? Any version of ICC. They don't have to be playing for you, or against you, just anywhere in your save. Screenshots of innings and over-by-over preferred but not required.

Starting this thread because I was playing as Essex in ICC09, season 09. Second game of the Pro League against Gloucestershire. For some reason, the AI seems to have selected Grant Hodnett as a bowler. He's only bowled in one one-dayer before in his life. He's never taken a wicket in one-day before, although he does have two in first-class - off 42 career overs, at an average over 100 and an economy rate pushing 5. He bowls offspin, and he's the only spinner in the Gloucestershire lineup.

Nevertheless, he's bowling here. He's had 7 overs and now it's the last over of the innings - and he's bowling it! Figures so far of 7-0-62-1 - not too good.
But last over goes:
1st ball: dot
2nd ball: Mark Hardinges on 29 off 24, caught by Franklin
3rd ball: new batsman Tim Phillips caught by Lewis
4th ball: new batsman Danish Kaneria lbw
5th ball: single
6th ball: dot
To finish 8-0-63-4

I'd say hat-tricks are a bit too common. As for hat-tricks to part-timers...no comment. I await your contributions.

I selected Kabir Ali and he got 5 in 5 first game - you're right, new batsmen are too vulnerable, but I'd also say that settled batsmen are not likely enough to get out.

lol, Tamim Iqbal took a hattrick for me. Although it doesn't really count sincei t was against Zimbabwe's #7, #10 and #11 batsman in the last over of an ODI. But nice figures of 3/1 in 4 balls.

and haha, his season statistics are 0 overs, 1 run, 3 wickets, avg 0.33, Best 3-1, Economy 1.5

A nice career bowling average of 8.75 as well, although he's only taken 4 wickets, 3 in that game.

And you were bowling him why exactly? :p

No that definitely counts! Exactly what I'm looking for. Besides, I'm sure Zimbabwe's number 7 all-rounder can't be much worse than Mark Hardinges! :lol

That's in ICC10 I presume? I suppose Tamim is still a specialist batsman in that game? Just checking because it seems like every time I blink I notice a new high-profile player who's made a transition into or out of the ranks of the all-rounders.

yeah, ████ bowler. tbh, I have no idea why I bowled him. I always play Sharif and Alam, bowl them 5 overs each to start off with (no matter what they take in them, sometimes i take them off early if they are too loose) then bring Shuvo and Haque on and take them off after a while (normally I bowl them out or about 7-8 overs) then I bowl Al Hasan and Mahmudullah with 10 overs between them before bringing on the pace bowlers for the final 10 overs.

And I had brought Alam back on an over early cause Al Hasan and Mahmudullah hadn't been bowling that great so I was hoping to bowl them out with Sharif and Alam but they had 3 wickets remaining with 1 over and I didn't feel like bringing a spin bowler on so I brought Tamim Iqbal on randomly. I thought he would take a wicket, but not a hattrick.

In my Bangladesh save I bowled Iqbal a reasonable amount and he did pretty well. I think one game the computer chose him as an opening bowler :/

you know what, that isn't a bad idea. Just took 2/51 in his last ODI so I'm deciding to play an extra batsman after we only won by 3 wickets in the last game thanks to a Rahim 50.

Now I'm playing only one specialist pace bowler, Sharif with Iqbal as my second opening bowler and playing Shuvo, Haque, Al Hasan and Mahmudullah with Nazimuddin batting at 7 and Rahim at 8. Let's see how this goes.

----------

meh, didn't work too well. he took 0/54 from 9 overs. Although the inclusion of the extra batsman worked well as Mahmudullah at #6 scored 69* (59), Nazimuddin at #7 scored 45 (53) and Rahim at #8 scored 19* (21) as we made 268/6. Shuvo then took 4/44 as we bowled them out for 228 to win the series 3-0.

I remember I bowled Kane Williamson in his first test and he took 5 overs, 5 wickets for 5 runs

No hat trick though
