Not a bug and you can do so yourself even now. Feel free to edit the teams used in career mode, add intl players you want to play with/against to the said teams and start your career.
In terms of shots going in air, I also felt the same while playing on PC version( in particular, the offside shots). But I am still not able to conclude whether my timing is not correct or, the shots really going in air always.
For example, this dismissal in video - just not sure whether it is my timing mistake or the nature of shot itself. Damn, thought that it went like a rocket to the fence but shocked to see it landing in safe hands!

I don't see any obvious changes post Patch 2
I think you should've filmed it in landscape...
Going purely on the visual - which is only a representation of the actual interaction anyway - you've got a firm contact but knee high on the up (assuming it's not a full toss) and outside half of the bat, so I don't think holing out at short cover is that incredibly contrived a result. Footwork looks a bit leg side?
Timing wise you're playing the ball right under your nose and the bat is angled down at the moment of contact, but I don't know how literally we can expect this to apply in the physics given the contact. The bad contact - maybe caused by a combo of you choosing to play on the up and a little bit of movement - would trump the correct timing in the game's order of priorities, perhaps?
I guess the key to solving this mystery is whatever the explanation is for the location of the contact. If that's traceable to ball deviation or a footwork mistake or something like that, then that seems like a fair cop.
eta - what would be awesome is an analysis feature on replay. They're not going to want to add in a huge new feature but just the footwork and timing info from practice matches would be really useful - especially considering the practice facilities don't have replay options (that I've found, did I miss them?).
Agreed. Clearly we can't read too much into the graphics, because (as I pointed out in the voiceover) the ball has gone part way through the bat before it goes to short cover.
It raced to short cover, though. Not clear in the video because I slowed it down, but it certainly reacted like it came off the bat pretty solid.
I agree with you here but when I watch cricket, the spinner's stock ball is usually consistent (ie. on a turning wicket, the ball will turn more often than not and vice versa). I don't think that the stock ball works like that in the game even when playing on a dusty pitch.
The bat on ball contact needs to be interpreted as being representative. We're talking about fixed animations trying to represent actions that in the real world would be less than so. This would be the case in any video game.
In reality I think you'd have to settle with the fact you probably got a thick edge. The game can't simulate that graphically, but the ball will have rolled over the edge and picked up a deflection. That's how the game sees it, even though the graphics were out under scrutiny. Mechanicaly, the bat edges will have hitboxes, and the ball will have crossed it.
Hi Guys, My first post here, Bought the PS3 Game when it was released in SA, been reading the forum for ages though, quick question, after the patch 2 update I started a new career, now my question is, if i start on Rookie or Amateur what determines when the level increases to Pro, Veteran and Legendary ? I want to start on a low level but don't want it to stay on that level throughout the career, I would like the difficulty to increase over time but would like to know what effects that process ?
