Patch 3 Requests/Wishlist

I guess its not an absolute necessity to have the same features across both current and previous gen platforms is it? If its so then its a win-win situation as leaving out the previous gen might not be a great idea for a developing franchise.

It will take a long time for PS4/XBOne to outnumber PS3/X360 so I would imagine they will focus on those. I still don't have a good reason to upgrade my PS3 and there are plenty of folks who are in the same boat.

I would imagine that the next iteration will be iterating on the DBC14 engine: wouldn't make any sense to start over so quickly... So I'd be very surprised if it wasn't on the same consoles as before (although maybe some platforms would make more sense as digital only, and not in a box).

A lot will depend on the publisher, whoever that turns out to be.

Absolutely right...:thumbs

Didn't Ross say that the RLL3 was a look at where DBC will be heading graphically? Their official page even mentioned 'next gen' graphics on a RLL3 screenshot and Im not sure if they can achieve something like that on an older engine? And considering they have a newer engine, I would imagine there would be atleast graphical improvements relative to RLL3 for the DBC engine.
Assuming both the games share a common base engine as far as I know, DBC will be taking a huge step forward. The fact that a working gameplay is fixed may just help the case.

Yeah next DBC will be having the RLL3 graphics for the next iteration....Like you said dont know whether it well workout for the previous gen, but hope it does as I will be buying it for PS3...If I do upgrade PC before the release then will go for the PC version of the game...

Looking at the screens from RLL3 I'd guess that it was the same engine, but with more bells and whistles. It's certainly a big step up from the previous look - My guess would be it's the same engine with everything turned up to 11. If this is the case then it would be quite easy to keep a "previous gen" version with everything turned back down a bit.

RLL3 is confirmed for the previous gen - so can't see them needing to drop it for cricket.

Still plenty of 7th gen sales going on - I'd question a physical release, but digital is a no-brainer providing it's done with scaling rather than a completely seperate version.

No, I wasn't suggesting the next game wouldn't run on the previous gen or skip them entirely, rather I was discussing the possibility of a newly built engine for RRL3 which could be shared with DBC. But as Chief says, maybe the older engine is being pushed to the limit.
But I do hope that releasing on the previous gen doesn't hold them back from using the extra power that the current gen can provide. Scaled up versions have been used on current gens for many other sports games I believe so it isn't improbable either.

The RLL3 engine isn't new, it's just an enhancement of the DBC one, which in turn was an enhancement of the RLL2 engine.

Any idea if BigAnt might enhance it gen specific? As in, enhancing more for current gen.
Given there's already a difference in DBC between the generations, you'd expect it to look better.

I wouldn't expect any feature differences between the versions.

I think you're right - I think they were using the Phyre Engine for quite a while for all their games.

But that's not necessarily what people describe as "engine": most people use 3rd party tools. When you say "different engine" to another game it's usually just shorthand for "it's vastly different from X previous game".

I'd be hugely surprised if "next DBC" used an overhaul, rather than being built on what they had already built in DBC14.

I think the game will be more fleshed out than the bare bones structure it has now like in career, animations. stadiums, scenarios etc also i believe there will be visual improvements but cant see the core structure they have got now changing.
