Pathan Reprimanded

Apparently he was reported by all the umpires. I think this is a very touchy subject and this matter is very light in comparison to a lot of the sledging that goes on. I saw Pathan clapping at him during the match and i knew he was beign sarcastic and all, but still i thought Martyn's reply to that was much worse.

I believe pathan was doing it lightheartedly, when Martyn stuck out his hand at Pathan and said something or another ( i am not sure what) it appeared to be just out of anger. That is more unacceptable than Pathan clapping him off.


Keep in mind that i am indian so it is quite possible that my judgement is biased.

he may have said that to ponting, but the article on cricinfo shows that he has downplayed the incident

Pathan's a young bloke with a headfull of steam and I think it's actually good for the game if India has an aggressive fast bowler.

I thought that Martyn took it all a bit too seriously, but that can happen when your saving your international carreer and you get dismissed.

I don't think Irfan should have been fined though

Brad Williams sort of did the same thing to Ganguly at Brisbane after he hit him for a couple of boundries then when Ganguly got out Williams in his follow-through started shaking his head at him like Pathan did to Martyn so....yea i think that the Aussies get of far more lightly than the Indians

poor Pathan.There is nothing wrong in what he did.Many players(mostly Aussies),do worse things,talk words degrading the oponent .Ausises are one of the most ill manered team in the world.

I think the issue of sledging and double standards has already been addressed and the last time this discussion went on, it was closed. Im not gonna give my opinion on the issue of double standars but i do suggest that we all end this whole discussion as it can get very controversial at times.

It was funny when pathan did that but still it is against the rules!! Martyn derserves it for sticking the mid finger at a cameraman!!!
