Guys, take it easy. I don't think there will be a CL for sometime now as we just finished with it. So who knows which teams will be in till then. Also, I would personally let the CL XII manager have the final say.

Thats harsh. I dont really support that idea. I agree that AfPL is of a way above standard, and that it was one of the four/three leagues who's winners got into the earlier stages of the competition.

We had the winners of Oceania Premier League in the previous edition because we had no NZPL winners, and their team contained Australians and New Zealanders as locals, but we also had an Australian team from ELA. Now, coming to my point, in AfPL you select players from all over Africa as your locals, where as in any other PLs, it is country based. Just because the squads there have more SAfricans, it is not quite fair to eliminate a SAPL team, is it? If I'm allowed to say, in my very honest opinion, an AfPL team shouldn't be allowed for CL for the very same reason above. Next day, if someone does a very very high standard European Premier League containing most of English players, would we exclude the EPL to include one from there?

This could just be my opinion. If this is just me, please let me be notified. I'm not really saying this as I am managing Centurion Lions, but because I don't find it logical enough. Its upto you guys to decide now. Nothing personal against anyone here, esp. riz, Iri. and I hope no one keeps something against me

Nah, I can see where you're coming from but you have to remember a few things. The Champions League on here isn't a true representation of the real life tournament. Yes, we try to get things as close as possible but we have to make adjustments so that it can be run. I mean we had 4 American teams in the CL not long ago iirc.

I never hold anything against anyone for having a different opinion to mine. Keep in mind too that my word isn't final. I'll have to discuss it with Dipak since he's the chairman (self-appointed)

My point was not that both teams get in actually. It isn't of great importance to me, if Centurion get in to the play the next season as well. It is just that CL should contain teams from nation based leagues, rather than continent based, although that can be just my opinion.

Riz's AfPL was started before a Zimbabwe Premier League was set up. It was a great way to include a country where (back then) it was unlikely anyone would start one until swirler came along. But now we do have a ZPL, I don't expect riz to drop Zimbabwean players from the roster just to qualify for the Champions League.

One thing we can do is include the teams from SAPL and AFPL together, which will make the number of teams to 10 and it'll be fair enough to everyone.

Not really. It would be unfair to every other nation that qualifies to have a team in the Champions League. It's like the real life event where India has four teams and New Zealand only has one. I would like to keep things fair which means either South Africa only gets one team like everyone else, or everyone else gets two teams like South Africa.

Why don't we go ahead & add my APL even though it's 40 overs if APL *biggy* is not complete?

It will be completed. Biggy is just taking things slow over Christmas.

There is a tough call up here. While I feel that Riz league should hey higher priority - it will be unfair if Centurion don't get to defend their title. Here's what I suggest:

Three match series between the two teams - winner goes through.

Include both teams.

Centurion go through as defending champs.

AfPL goes through for its long term jeopardy.

I guess option 1 is the best and option 2 won't be accepted by many.

Or we might even calculate the winning percent of the winners of the leagues so that the team that dominated the league more goes through.

I think we should just leave it for now till the next CL. I mean the CL manager will be good enough to decide it. I like the 3 match series idea but, there might be a case where both the teams have many common players between them.

I thought of a new idea .

The idea is that we create a League dateline , all the premier leagues's should finish by November ( An ideal time) . The point is that time the leagues will start at a fixed time & also the season would be good , on how enter if 1 or 2 seasons have compleated .

That's just a suggestion ,teams won't have to try & banter . Whichever league finishes first gets in .
