You're getting it the other way. There wasn't any need to go at nothing is perfect!

This system is OK. But i fear, just expressing, things might just not sort out. We need to have judges who don't participate in the competition. At least people who can judge, though not necessarily be related to graphics. Matt(WHM) is an excellent judge i see, I'd request him and see if he accepts to be a judge, then we'd be in the safe zone. And Jack (treva) if possible. (A graphics gun!)

Another option is to have a 50:50 System. 50% from the public votes, 50% from the judges. I think it's fair, keeping out people from voting their favorite entries feels gutted. When i started, this comp's actually was made for people to decide who's the best, remember? But Things change, cheating and partiality have spoiled the voting. But there are real voters you see, and with the public votes and judges' votes, It'd be nice!

Views? There are ideas. We can get them on track.

But, I do like your first suggestion. We can probably have Matt as one of the judges. Also, we could include Jack when he comes back. I think he is away now. Not allowing a judge to vote when he enters is another nice idea.

I've been following this thread with all the drama and I was supposed to be participating this week but I messed up reading and made signature instead of wallpaper
Coming onto the disussion, I would say that I agree with KBC's idea of giving some weightage to public polls. There are some honest voters here and having public polls will keep the attraction of non-participating members or else this thread would the participants and judges discussing with each other with some rare posts of non-participating members. If not 50-50 then 60-40 or even 70-30 but give them some weightage.

@ KBC : The idea sounds good to hae non-graphics making judges. I guess its important to understand the art regardless of being or not being an artist himself. And I also agree that if judges are participating, if not now then atleast on some stage a participant may feel that the judge has been partial so I guess you are trying to avoid that blame.

I just posted my views, if anybody felt bad/hurt then I'm sorry. I never intended that.

The system is crystal clear. Some thought entry 5 was best and some thought entry 6 was the best. You probably have also seen the difference between entry 5 and 6 is 0.01 which could have gone either way around.

And as per entry 3 and 7 are concerned, I guess you've gone nuts. You being a beginner, can't make out the effort gone in entry 7. On the contrary, I literally can count the no. of texures used in entry 3 and the plain black background doesn't help either. That's the reason the panel comprises of advanced graphic makers and not beginners. You might think Entry x is better than Entry y, though, entry x only uses only 2-3 textures.

But, I'd advice you to do what Matt said. The ad would definitely be a hit.

I simpley didn't include myself in the panel, as I thought, I could have easily exploited the results. Though, I would've not done that, but still, I would've to option to do so.

We don't want the things to get complicated. Though there might be some honest voters, but still you'd have those kind of people who love to cheat. So after having devised such a wonderfull system, I can't think of ruining it again.

Yup Goufal's a legend.But those textures arent the only ones used.
And yeah lets move on.I was always happy with the judgement.I just wanted to clarify things.
