How Sodium's post didn't suggest any bids.

I'd argue that it doesn't, since we've already agreed that you can't declare yourself "out" of the auction (they've ended up with two players from this set anyway) so Sodium's post wasn't actually bidding for anyone.

It does actually because "No bid" is equals to a "bid".

The reason why I'd define a "no bid" as being commentary rather than starting the clock as the "first bid" on players is because we've already concluded that a team can make a bid after declaring themselves out, which would suggest that it isn't a bid since in the rules all bids are final and can't be withdrawn.

In what universe does no bid count as a bid? Matt's post obviously counts as the first bid.
