PCPL - Discussion Thread (All Owners READ!!)

What amount of prize vCash will the winning team receive?

Some intriguing offers already in the bid forum. I think bids on the first three players have already topped the total bids last season?
Does pal own all 8 teams?

Ha, if only. I think it's because the current rules make it possible for teams with, just as an example, 2m at their disposal to bid that entire amount for every player up for sale, so it's possible for that team to bid up to 10m (if they're bidding for five players) at one time, even if they can only pay for one of those players at the end of the bidding process. It doesn't make sense, but I can live with it.

I think it's fine, because in the end the players that they can't afford go into re-bidding. So it's kinda like safe-guarding your spending, just in case one of the bidding falls through, your bids on the backup stand.

When the re-bidding process starts, you revert back to the last bid, which, as has already happened in the bidding threads that are up right now, is also 'inflated' in this sense. Some other team has also bet a large part of, if not all, their vCash on each of the players, even though they can only afford one of them. Like I said, I don't mind it at all; I'm just observing that the current rules unnecessarily inflate prices.

Indeed, the prices will sky rocket. But I'm guessing the actual, final selling price for many players will be far lower. So it should even out in the end.

I like this method better than you-bid you-pay method. Encourages more mindless bidding for players. Bid now, think later :p

My reading of Simon's rules post is that the bid goes back to the next lowest price with all the bids of the team who pulled out wiped so if a team rejects a player all their bids for that player are cancelled.
I believe he is also planning on asking teams to provide evidence of funds available to prevent them from bidding over their budget just to inflate.

How dare he insinuate that Man D's funds are imaginary! They're real alright! And legal!

:spy

This is being discussed at the moment. Penalties will be given out to those who try to "cheat," the system.

What will the winning team in tier 1 receive again?
