Harsha Bhogle tweeted that 60% of the players should not have been in the auction. From the IPL history, franchises have learned that it is stupid to get 27 players in the squad when even 16 players can do the job for you.

Yeah saw that tweet and I'd have to agree. I mean guys like Grant Elliott and Jehan Mubarak?? Also like you say because you're only playing 4 overseas players theres not really any reason to buy more than about 6 and if I were a franchise I'd probably stay completely away from guys who can only play a few weeks. Theres so many good players you don't need to waste money for a player if they're only playing a few games.

Hopefully the next time they have the big auction they find a more efficient way of doing it because it should not be 8 hours or whatever it was.

Wasted money on too many overseas big hitters. With Bravo already retained and the need to play one other overseas fast bowler, we can only play two overseas batsman. So atleast one among Smith, Faf and McCullum will almost always miss out.

And what was that "Nehra" pick? Couldn't we get any other decent Indian bowler? Wish we got Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Or even Balaji. I mean Balaji went to KXIP for 1.8 crores. We spent 2 crores on Nehra. Could have saved 20 lakhs by picking Balaji. Balaji has done well for KKR in the last few IPL's.

According to Cricinfo, Chennai still need three more players and have a purse of 2.9 crores. We need some Indian batsmen. Hope they don't pick any keeper batsmen (like Naman Ojha, etc). Buying a keeper in a team that has Dhoni and McCullum is an incredible waste of money.

I hope they get Badri back.Not many teams will be interested for him and CSK can get him pretty easily.Not because people dont consider him a good player,hes underrated.
I also dont understand the logic of buying so many power hitters,no beed for Dwayne Smith.Plus we lost our opening combo.Although I considered Vikay to be useless half the time,they shouldve used the match card on Hussey.Faf was mostly used as a Benchboy in the last 2 seasons.I dont find much playtime for him unless he is involved in the opening combo.But the 2nd opener is still a serious doubt for me.
Still dont know why we got hold of Nehra..Balaji wouldve been a good buy.A lil bit economical and we wouldve got a lil bit of IPL experience in him too.This IPL is going to be so full of surprises.

I lost all hopes on CSK. By far the worst team line up in the history of IPL. Nonsense bowling department and a Dhoni only batting line up, looks like Fleming was drunk during the auctions. He never even reacted to most of the players.

KX1P have made the best buys by far. @Yudi i am with you this time mate, into the Lion's den, hoping to see Bailey lead the side to the title and Viru getting the orange cap.

I like DD squad, RCB batting too.

Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthick in the same team So Nikitha is going to have a great time i suppose

I'm worried as to who will lead our side. Viru is never interested in captaincy and I'm not a big fan of overseas players leading IPL teams (ie Bailey). Maybe Pujara?
