IPL Pepsi IPL 2014 Auction

Simply rcb wasted thier fund on muralitharan and starc :facepalm

i don't think money wasted on Starc... but yes with murali and rampal... i don't see any good with them... but we can save 4cr on Yuvi, but because of KKR we forced to pay extra 4 on him...:mad

can anyone seriously think of a worse move thus far than the Karthik one? His highest score in T20 internationals is 31* . D:

He has done decently well for Mumbai Indians in the last season (and also in Champions league IINM). Still it does not justify that price tag. Auctions are just like that: jackpot for some.

Corey Anderson in Mumbai. So now MI has Hussey, Anderson, Pollard and Malinga - a formidable overseas unit. If they can get some good uncapped Indian talent, they would be a side to watch out for.

Also, I think they need to shorten the amount of players in the next auction based on whether teams have an interest, I mean they are wasting their time even calling out about half the names.

Harsha Bhogle tweeted that 60% of the players should not have been in the auction. From the IPL history, franchises have learned that it is stupid to get 27 players in the squad when even 16 players can do the job for you.

Banglore have a monster squad right now. They just need a decent Indian player who can bat at 6 or 7 for them and a decent Indian spinner and they are done.

SRH and Kings 11 were extremely smart with their picks. Kings 11 especially have made a pretty good team.

Holy crap Matt Henry got picked up! Good to see Fleming helping out his fellow cantabs :p

Mitchell McClenaghan was a better option than Matt Henry with both priced 30 lakhs

But Mclaneghan got unsold. Waiting for tomorrow. Even Alex Hales go unsold. He is a good player at T20 level.

Looking nice, hope we can get Nadeem and Sandeep now.

IMO CSK made a mess by dragging Ashish Nehra.Although he was at one time a very good pacer,he has aged out gradually and may or may not be consistent.
But we have got some good buys in Dwayne Smith,Brendon McCullum,Faf,Samuel Badree,Matt Henry and Ben Hilfenhaus.Hify is a bowler who can deliver decent spells with wickets.
Excited to see this time around.KXIP seem to be their favourites.

I'm worried as to who will lead our side. Viru is never interested in captaincy and I'm not a big fan of overseas players leading IPL teams (ie Bailey). Maybe Pujara?

^But there is a possibility of Pujara and Vohra rotation. Don't forget Vohra was retained.

It got to be Bailey and let viru play free tough kings XI have done well in their picks Aus players availablity has been a concern i feel that people did not go for mitchel due to the concern of availablity especially he plays test for them so he may miss now and then luckly the other 2 are seen as Odi specialists so they got that right

Samuel Badree brought in for 30 lakhs is a excellent addition to our team.

Pujara cant even be sure of a place in the playing XI due to his skill set for T20's. How can he captain the side?

Wasted money on too many overseas big hitters. With Bravo already retained and the need to play one other overseas fast bowler, we can only play two overseas batsman. So atleast one among Smith, Faf and McCullum will almost always miss out.

And what was that "Nehra" pick? Couldn't we get any other decent Indian bowler? Wish we got Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Or even Balaji. I mean Balaji went to KXIP for 1.8 crores. We spent 2 crores on Nehra. Could have saved 20 lakhs by picking Balaji. Balaji has done well for KKR in the last few IPL's.

According to Cricinfo, Chennai still need three more players and have a purse of 2.9 crores. We need some Indian batsmen. Hope they don't pick any keeper batsmen (like Naman Ojha, etc). Buying a keeper in a team that has Dhoni and McCullum is an incredible waste of money.
