I've uploaded me playing Unfaithful, it was recorded at my friends house. I know its not very good but please let me know how it sounds. I was too lazy to upload it on youtube .

Don't ask me for notes lol, I have no idea how to read notes. I mostly play by ear or watch youtube videos.

Sounds good, might want to use a piano effect though with sustain.

Not familiar with the actual song. Who is it by?

Anyone here play piano? I just got a 88 key digital piano and have decided to learn a little bit.

Can currently play the 1st movement of Moonlight Sonata and a few cheesy kids songs.

Any tips/ easy songs to learn? Am trying to learn the theme to Schindlers list.

Yeah man. I played for 15 years. Currently own a Yamaha P-70. Believe it or not, I can play the Schindler's List theme song.

Wow, who'd have thought. I have never been to this section of the forums before.

Wow! Cap'n! You too!!!! This place is full of surprises! Nice piano. I have just an acoustic piano: I have always struggled on electric ones for some reason. The keys don't feel right for me. What kind of things do you enjoy playing??

Ok so I decided I'll just load them on youtube so you don't have to download files.

Here it is again, first 2 measures both hands.

Very good!

Edit: This is my piano; it's a Yamaha Clavinova

Maybe I can take the chord progressions I'm working on with guitar and make some piano music out of them. My motivation to practice piano is very low at the moment, so I need things that are fun, as well as long term projects like Schindler's List - such a beautiful tune though, even the right hand on its own.

I've really got to do something about my bass clef reading! I can't identify a single note! And that's depressing after working so hard to get to where I was. I hope I can at least get back there, and then maybe push on a bit.

Edit: @Hmarka: How did you record your music - what did you use? I'd like to upload some of my piano (when I've got back into it), or maybe some guitar at some point.

@ Dutchad, thanks I am just about to finish the first few lines and get to the middle section!

@ MasterBlaster

I recorded by literally putting my laptop on the side of the piano and using Sound Recorder :laugh

I get most of my sheet music from here:

free piano sheet music

Will try to record my progress again today.

Unfaithful by Rihanna. lol, its not exactly a song that a guy would play but w/e :p.

How was it though, was the timing off?

Sounded good to me but I am probably not the best judge.

As far as my progress on Schindler's List. I have learned the first 7 measures and am playing them with both hands. Playing it well below tempo but am hitting all the notes.

Only a few measures away from the end of the first part and then I am going to practice it non-stop before I move on to the wonderful (and tricky sounding) middle.

Will try to upload a clip tonight if It sounds half way decent.

Ok so here is my attempt at the first 8 measures. I played it about 10 seconds slower than the actual tempo. Made one or two minor mistakes as well.

feedback please, :p

Steve, found a diagram of the bass clef and what the notes are. Using those two diagrams at the top right is basically the only thing I know. Then its a matter of figuring the notes out and "hardcoding" it into my brain.

Easy way to remember is Treble Clef is FACE. Base Clef is ACEG

Nick, could you upload yourself playing Thousand Miles? Whats the learning curve on that song?

Need another song to learn along with Schindler's List. Any suggestions? Thinking of "Yesterday" so far.

Here's my DGX-630, or YPG-635 as it's known in the US. Has some great synth and brass sounds, as well as some good piano sounds. I'm tempted to record some stuff of me playing, but have never really done it.. maybe I should. A little bit nervous though, I guess. Despite being more of a synth keyboard, it has weighted keys which is a big plus and it has great sensitivity.

Record some stuff then blake, interested to hear what you can play. Weighted keys are a must, in fact I am actually looking to buy an acoustic piano and sell my digital one.

Exactly the reason why i have a n acoustic piano and not a digital one. You just can't compare the two in terms of feel and sound. Just my personal opinion!:p
