Doing a night exercise. We are meant to be looking after the new guys, making sure that they are "safing" the rifle, pretty much so they don't accidently shoot someone. Some cadet's rifle jams, so me being the kind sort of guy I am, trys to fix it. I can't as he has got the bolt jammed so I give him my rifle, while I start taking his apart. I fix his rifle but then realise that my squad is out of position, so call everyone to fall back. I manage to get us lost (I dropped the map and it is pitch black). Whilst trying to navugate via the radio set, I trip in a rabbit hole and the cadet's gun snags on a gorse bush. I naturally put my hand forward to soften the fall, but the gorse bush snags the trigger and it fires. I get caught by a lot of hot wading and the muzzle burn. This does my hand in completely, but I carried on, what a hero
I remember I got a massive deep cut and bad scar from slipping while playing softball......you hurt yourself from doing the stupidest stuff yet if you hurtle of a dirtjump at high speed and fall off (Which I do a lot) your fine
Not as impressive as the scar on the side of my head. Caused by a drunken night out when I was 15. Went out on the piss with my mates, had abit too much shandy (Vodka), stumbled home, went up to my room. Went to get up to go for a slash, passed out, and happened to land head first onto a pint glass. The glass smashed, head split open pretty bad, ambulance called, trip to hospital, a few stitches to the head and "alcohol abuse" on my health records
Moral of the story, go for a slash on the way up the stairs, don't sit down, then go for a slash as you'll pass out and do yourself some damage.
