I was wondering if people could post successful approaches to different types of pitches and conditions. I'm not quite sure how to approach which pitch what way.

soft pitches.... do not even attempt an aggressive shot until at least the batter has 40+, you can still hit boundaries with a well timed non aggressive shot (ie leave your hands of L2 (L2+R2))

Is it true that there is more seam movement in green pitches? Haven't paid attention to note this specifically for now. Thanks

They don't do anything it's all placebo effect IMO it swings everywhere, it seams everywhere, it spins everywhere and there's no subtlety it either goes heavily or not at all. Only difference is the bounce.

I have noted that sometimes the ball doesn't swing or seam as much in career. Now, I'm not sure if this is due to the pitch or the ball getting old. I think it does have something to do with the pitch conditions though to be honest but I'm not sure. Does everyone bat first on hard pitch and bowl first on a soft track regardless of other pitch variables?

The biggest difference I see is between soft and hard wkts. It's easier to bat and score runs on Hard wkts compared to Soft wkts. Have no idea what other pitch attributes - Green, Dusty, Wearing, Worn do. Also, can't say whether cracks or lack thereof impact gameplay.

I was playing on ps 4 on a dusty heavy cracked pitch but when playing the pitch has no cracks and looks like a pristine pitch TBO I have rarely seen cracks on a pitch only occasionally on the 5th day of a test match

I would second that. I only remember seeing cracked pitches for test matches. It is also possible that I'm not remembering it correctly though so I leave it open for others to input their impressions. As far as I can tell the hard - soft dichotomy is the most prominent for pitch types so I agree with @cricket_online on that front. I usually just bat first on a hard wicket and bowl first on a soft pitch.
