I don't think anyone said that with malice or to try and dishearten you. I think it was just said due to the fact that they know how many people are active on this forum

2.3 - Team Threads
Captains of each team have the option of creating a thread specific for their team. Whilst it is not against the rules to post in another team?s thread, it is common courtesy to post in your own team thread only.

2.4 - Match Thread
Every match between two teams will have its own thread. This is where captains name their 11 players for the match and pitch conditions. Team selection and pitch conditions must be named before the given deadline in the match thread. This is also the most common place for banter to take place, but please read rule 2.2 before engaging in banter.

These two things won't be allowed. You'll have to have everything in this one thread.

@ aneeq7 - You should start putting the names of the players who've signed up on the main post. Otherwise, it'll be burdensome to put all the info of large number of players at once.

That's great. I always feel the interest is automatically generated when people keep coming in. Especially in such leagues. When we think, 'Oh he's someone new to the section, I'm not joining this until other people sign up', then there's a problem. Most of the people think that and never join.
