Congratulations to the winners and try harder to the losers. Maybe not @asprin as he took my best avatar crown.

My plan to be obnoxious enough to not win any awards after winning several last year has backfired and I won even more.

To those who voted for me, thank you very much. To those who didn't: you probably voted fraudulently.

In all seriousness, this year has been very difficult for me, much like last year and the year before that and the year before... you get the idea. Aside from some unexpected opportunities that I was fortunate to be a part of, this year has ended where it began which is not great situation for me. Spending my time in the cricket forum, in particular, has been one consistent bright spot. It has been most enjoyable sharing England's defeats to India, New Zealand, India again, New Zealand again and Australia with you all. So it is very humbling to be considered worthy of awards, even if it is just a bit of fun.

Not that anyone asked for an acceptance speech, but I did want to thank everyone here. I'm not sure what I'd be doing if I wasn't discussing the greatness of Jonny Bairstow and other cricketing facts.

Hope all those who celebrate had a great Christmas and those who don't one day acknowledge the greatness of the special boy who was born on this day.

Elated to see @icyman up there with the best in the cricket discussion posting, his style is of an old school planet cricket type which sadly there aint much of us remaining.

Much appreciated! Sometimes, I do wonder where the old folk are-my guess being that work has taken up much of their time. That said, the newer ones coming in do make up the missing links and its definitely good to be acquainted with the next generation
