PlanetCricket Prove They Can Hang With The Big Boys
After all the speculation about this brand new team having no hope whatsoever, they've shown a great first half display to lead Middlesbrough by 2 goals to 1. Right from the off they showed they meant business with some meaty challenges from the midfield. Matthew Roberts picked up a yellow card for one of these challenges.
Then, a lovely flowing move produced the first goal. A ball out wide from captain to Jack Teague allowed the latter to sweep in a superb low cross for Bilal Tahir to finish well. Question marks may well be placed over the defense but no-one could deny that it was a move straight off the training ground. The goal came on 14 minutes.
A mere 5 minutes after the 1st goal, PlanetCricket got a 2nd. A corner from landed straight onto the head of Jeremy Greig who made no mistakes with the finish powering a header into the top left hand corner.
Just before half time however, Middlesbrough hit PlanetCricket FC on the break. Viduka ran into the box and took a shot which was parried by goalkeeper Tobie Chapman but he could do nothing about the rebound from Lee Dong Gook who buried it at the second attempt.
