Kumar @themusketeer and Punani @Samuels gave the visitors a solid platform with 59 in 13 overs, although the Punani was badly dropped at slip by Narine when he had made just nine. The stand ended soon when Punani, on 29, was caught at deep cover by Rampaul.
Kumar maintained the momentum, reaching his 50 with a pull for a boundary off Bravo but soon Clarke @SixerBoy11 (10 off 14) and Bubere @AliB (8 off 11) fell in successive overs to Bravo as PlanetCricket slipped to 115 for three. (25 overs)
A laboured 72 off 97 balls from Aman Kumar @themusketeer at the top of the order was ended in the 27th over when he mistimed to mid-on with 124 on the board.
Fifth-wicket pair Agger @Aggz and Chifundo @VC the slogger positively steadied the ship with a stand of 53 inside 12 overs before the Nick Agger was caught behind for 37 with 178 on the board. Powerplay taken
PlanetCricket looked on course for a total of more than 250, but West Indies fought back in the closing overs, taking wickets regularly.
Chifundo was caught at cover and, after NGuyen had scored 17 from 18 balls, was given LBW, later Maximus was yorked by Pollard. Bravo also picked up the wicket of Parkinson to finish with 3-60.
couldn't get enough score on board, but i guess this score will be enough to defeat West Indies. They are T20 Players. whatever happens there is another chance. looking forward for 2nd innings
West Indies suffered an early blow in their reply when Chris Gayle was run out with direct hit from Sam Parkinson @SamP in the second over. And soon Darren Bravo was bowled by Maximus @Raghu But Smith then began to impose himself, clearing the mid-on rope with ease off Maximus, and it was a stroke of luck, that brought about his dismissal for 34 off Queen.
In Queen's @EARAgAV first over, he had Smith caught behind by NGuyen, while his next three overs also featured wicket. Getting rid off Simmons who was living dangerously who was stumped for 17 from 13.
Planet Cricket in West Indies
Played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown
27 June 2014
Toss: Planet Cricket won the toss and chose to bat
Result: Planet Cricket won by 38 runs
MoM: BN Queen @EARAgAV
When Queen bowled Simmons for 17 in the third ball of the 19th over, he had figures of 2-3 and West Indies were 95 for five.
Bravo and Pollard were forced to exercise caution after such a collapse and had taken the score to 120 by the end of the 25th before Parkinson taking the wicket of Pollard who was caught at mid-wicket by Agger.
Bravo did his best to inject some zeal with 60 off 63 balls, including a six off Queen, but he then skied Queen to deep midwicket. The following overs saw Rampaul caught by Prathik off Parkinson and Windies were 172 for eight.
Ramdin fell cheaply to Parkinson, but the off-spinner's last over saw Narine strike him for three four in a glittering three-ball spell to give his side a chance. But the following over, he was given LBW to Maximus.
Captain Ali Bubere said: "It was an important toss to win. We always like to bat, put a total and taking wickets up front, so we delighted that it came out well."
A needed and good innings by Kumar in his first ever appearance. He delivered when team needed it badly. Punani and Kumar gave PC a solid start but a collapse in middle order restricted us from posting a big total.
While chasing Queen was impressive with bowl and took important wickets when it mattered. Well done PC.[DOUBLEPOST=1431867898][/DOUBLEPOST]Fantastic presentation Swacker.
