Player of the Decade

Congratulations for providing us with the Biggest Facepalming moment of the decade! :doh
Yousuf, other than the purple patch he struck, can`t be spoken of in the same breath as Sachin,Ponting, Kallis or Dravid. All you have to do is to look at his overseas records and compare them to the others that I mentioned. Hardly a legend, Yousuf.

Another fact that negates Yousaf's claim to a legend, is his inability to play under pressure. He has not been able to play well under pressure.

Here is my personal ranking of batsman from this era on a tier basis -

1: Tendulkar, Lara, Ponting.
2: Dravid, Kallis, Steve Waugh

My top five. Probably better to stack them up this way as opposed to ranking them individually.

Nope, sorry, Tendulkar simply cannot be above Rahul Dravid. Maybe in ODIs, but tests are weighted much more and Dravid has been better in tests.

Tier 1) Dravid, Ponting, Kallis, McGrath, Muralitharan, Hayden, Pollock

Great purple patch?good to hear that:facepalm

My list was only batters.

I agree, Dravid was just as important to the Indian team as Sachin, maybe even more important. But he isn't in the league of super cricketers of this generation. Dravid is the team player, the fighter, but Tendulkar is the natural strokemaker, the magician and the genius.

That's why we are so lucky to have both in the Indian team :p

You have Hayden but no Sachin?

Who cares whether it's natural brilliance or cultivated brilliance... The result is all that matters and that is why Dravid is still a "super" cricketer.
