players deserve better spelling

How ironic is that? Spelling a person's name wrong in a spelling correction thread. :p

Its those dam Asian names that get me :p i can spell Trescothick, Dalrymple and Strauss.

Come to Murali(theran?) or Sachin (Tendulkar?) them are the two main ones which i mis-spell or have to look up, thats why i just call Tendulkar - Sachin incase anyone is offended by me mis-spelling the little masters name :D

Tendulkar is phoenetic (which isnt to be ironic).

It's phonetic. :)

Someone should create a cricket dictionary for Firefox 2. Yeah, but I'm not going to be that loser.

You know you want to ;)

Boy I need a cricket name dictionary, can't spell any of those long ones or Asian ones. I just go by their first name save me the trouble :)

Laxman Shivaramakrishnan? I have no idea howto spell that. And what's VVS Laxman's full unabbreviated name again?

From memory, it is something like Vangipurapu Venkat Sai Laxman. And you almost got Laxman Sivaramakrishnan right, in fact Shiva/Siva is pretty interchangeable so I'm not sure what LS goes by.

Top thread. Should be stickied :p

To be fair, I have heard many Indian commentators pronouncing it Shewag, so that's probably where people come up with that.

Isn't that rather how the 'S' is pronounced? Like how many a German pronounces 'S' with a 'h' just after it.

Or am I nattering on nothing?

Also Michael Vaughan not Vaughn, Varne, or any other way you can think.
