Lets revive this and do the classic Rawls thought Experiment.

You have to setup the structure, the principles and the social mechanisms and the like of society. However the kicker is that you don't know where you personally will be interested into your created society.

So, how do you set it up?

It is, you have to decide what assumptions you want to make and to what extent you want to think of things. Your political system will be influenced by your economics system which will be influenced by your cultural system which will be influenced by national systems etc. It can be a rabbit hole :)

@Freedom have you followed the news around US' new South Asia policy?

After the speech it looked as if he was soon gonna declare Pakistan as a terrorist sponsor. That would've woken the idiotic army generals up. But now they seem to have become a lot more diplomatic. I guess they're hopeless in Afghanistan without Pakistan.
But i think they should criticise the Afghan government too. The Taliban have big areas under their control. They have big problems within too. But i guess criticising the Afghan government would basically amount to criticising themselves.
And the call for India to "do more" in Afghanistan, did they really Pakistan was gonna lie down and take it? It wasn't a well thought out policy.

Thats a 3 month old thing now. Right now the political scenario is such that everyone and I can say it in caps EVERYONE is scared of China in some or the other way. With Mr Trump as the US president and his way of running the oval office China has found a foot in the door of achieving global dominance. I am saying all this because this is how countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, India get dealt during this cold war process. USA has trillion dollar debt from China and they cannot directly blame them or break relations, India on the other hand can be played from US's POV because India has to be safe from China as well as Pakistan. US tried to gain India's confidence but India is a stronger ally of Russia then US which US does not like to see. In all this India built a good partnership with Afghanistan (may be political, lets not get there) and in order to keep India happy US thought of declaring Pakistan a terrorism sponsored state. I do not think US would need Pakistan's help in Afghanistan as they have doing fine since 16 years now? but again Trump is a businessman, Pakistan are to buy I guess some attack Helicopters from US, thats more profitable to him.

What are your views @CerealKiller on Hafeez Saeed going to contest general elections?

Fine? Don't think so. The USA has the strongest military in the history of mankind. They would be out of Afghanistan since years if they did fine. Trump is actually gonna increase US soldiers there. They're gonna stay for 3-4 more years at least, imo.
Pakistan provides supply routes for NATO through the Karachi port and Balochistan to Afghanistan. USA had to apologise in 2012 after an incident in which 26 Pakistani soldiers were killed by a NATO airstrike led to those routes being closed. Other routes are much more costly. There is the port that India and Iran are building, but since Trump wants to end the nuclear deal, they can't use that.

Army puppet to take right wing votes away from PML-N. Would've been sent to India or hanged long ago had it depended on civilian governments.
I think if he stands for the election the onus will be on Pakistan to prove how it defends it self from Terrorist sponsored allegation. There is always going to be India ready to pounce on the fact (nothing wrong as he was the mastermind behind the 26/11 attack). Whether one agrees or not India has dealt foreign relations a tad little better since 2014. I am sure there are a lot of things our government is not doing right(even if its silent on issues its wrong) but India overall has progressed. I would love to see the neighbors becoming like that as well. I have said it in many posts here on PC that Pakistan has so much talent (have a lot of Pakistani friends here in US), they need good government and leadership. United Arab Emirate have shown a Muslim country can be in top list and Pakistan really have a chance too with all the talent but somewhere between Army and government everything is lost.
