Hi,

I've got a massive assignment to do :p as always and ive kind of overlooked the fact that i need powerpoint, does anyone know where i can find a free trial or a free similar thing to powerpoint?

Thanks in advance...

Simon

You may be able to find a free trial of MS Office 2007 but whether it is worth it is another thing.

Zoho is a fine web-based office suite including presentation, spreadsheet, word processor, wiki, CRM and several other apps. I found it as a good substitute of MS Office. Website: www.zoho.com

Really?? Never used it, so thanks Ksitiz. But just realized that you need to download Open Office, where Zoho is web-based. Nevertheless will give it a try when I get home.

Well, living in Canada has its advantages, one including no sudden power outages. Besides, Zoho automatically saves anything you do, so nothing goes to waste ;)

Wow. Both Zoho and Open Office pwn. I'm going to use it on my GP's crap comp in India when I go :p

I used the Office 2007 Beta 2 when it came out, and really enjoyed its new interface. However, one thing I disliked about Office 07 was that when trying to open a document that has been created with Office 2007 with Office 2003, I was to download an extra converter. So any documents I create at home, cannot be opened due to the lack of a converter as downloads are disabled in my school (yeah, yeah I know how to change that, but not willing to take any consequences ;) ). I do not know if that front has changed, but if it has, it will be one the best productivity suite. But price wise, OpenOffice and Zoho are quite excellent, and become good alternatives of MS Office. After hearing so many praises of OpenOffice today, I decided to give it a try. Therefore I downloaded the portable version on my 4GB USB Drive, and tried it out. The most frustrating aspect of this suite is its extremely slow start-up, otherwise it's a good substitute of Office, with familiar interface of Office 2003. I used the tweaks suggested on the web, but the application still doesn't run as smoothly as I want it to(perhaps because it is a portable version or may be even because my expectations are too high  ). I used Zoho for writing a "minuscule"(1300 words) essay(reminder=I am 13), and enjoed its cool suites and wonderful interface. But I will not thwart OpenOffice. I will use all three(Portable OpenOffice, Zoho, MS Office 2003) as they all have to offer something unique that the others cannot.

Office 2007 is really good if you have the money to afford it. I like Word which now has a much better intergration with equation editor. Haven't tried the powerpoint but probably as good as previous versions if not better.

i am using office 2007... got a gift from my cousin bro...
love the new interface...

@ cnbd_novice : you can save the document so that it can be easily opened and edited in word 2003... there is an option in save as...
