We have a button in Control Panel to empty your inbox but not to view the contents of it.

The only time we see PMs is when they're reported and we get sent a copy. As Aditya says it is of course possible to dig things out the database if you know SQL but they can't be viewed easily through Control Panel.
I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before. If it makes you happier send role info via e-mail...
