Pujara sharpening bowling skills

Now talking about Sunny, he has gone too old to comment on anyone. Every player in the squad has talent and thats why he is there. No one has any right to complain against Dhoni. He is the one who has given us so many wins be it world cup or number one test position.

I know Sunny doesn't have the spark in his commentary anymore, but he is anything but a 'dumbass' as mentioned in the comment before yours. Or even too old to comment on the current players. He still has a shitload of cricketing knowledge and is actually spot on about MSD and Fletcher and Coaching staff.

Every player in the squad may have 'talent' but as we have clearly seen with Rohit and Ishant, talent is overrated and doesn't necessarily translate into performance. I would rather have an untalented performer than a talented non-performer in the team.

About Dhoni. Got nothing against him in the ODIs and T20s. But I wish he himself would step down as the Test captain. He is just seems to lack the temperament required to be a good Test captain (And I am not even saying successful Test captain, just good).

PS: This thread should be renamed to (What is wrong with Indian cricket .. yet again) :P

I think you have very deep cricketing knowledge. What about coaching me?(sic)

Pujara only needs to concentrate on his batting.

Sadly that is not enough for him to break into a side loaded with favorites. Ours is a side that is over-confident and is not remotely bothered as to what is happening.

Fletcher does not seem to have a clue of whom to pick where. Again, I still do not understand why a person who bats for Mumbai at No.4 is opening the batting for India. Despite repeated failures, certain people get priority and are being groomed as future leaders.

A chap like Pujara needs to be given a decent run -atleast 25-30 ODIs before branding him as a Test specialist.

That having said, Pujara isn't taking a bad approach. He can see for himself the state of the Indian bowling. Also, trying to bowl might build up his reputation as a useful bowler.

At present, we do have one in Jadeja who is in the side on account of the triple tons scored. However, he hasn't really shown the same kind of form in international cricket. Although his bowling holds good for him.

Pujara might just have seen an opportunity here.

I am slowly losing all interest in Indian cricket (in the current scenario). This period is so reminiscent to the Ganguly-Wright-Chappell phase in 2004-05 where Ganguly lost ideas as captain and just meandered along. The thing here is, unlike Wright who had a great coaching stint and then lost his touch at the end, Fletcher has never been in any touch whatsoever. Ever since he came in, India has been on a big downward spiral and its not ending at all. Somehow the players like him (they give him good reviews unfortunately), and so he stays.

No one will deny that Duncan is a bad coach but I think this thread is about Pujara.

Thanks for not understanding in what context I said that. What I said was in context with what's also happening with Pujara as far as ODI's are concerned.

If you are so thankful, you should have pressed thanks button. Please I request you to press thanks button instead of posting thanks. Lol

Update

Pujara in an interview printed in Indian newspaper Hindustan Times, says that batting will still remain his priority. He told he is trying to bowl leg spinner. He revealed that initially in junior cricket, he was a leggie but knee injury forced him to start concentrating on batting.
