Random Thoughts

It jumped into a box 30cm off the ground (), filled with random presents from my birthday a few years ago.
I took it outside and threw the box on the ground, and the last I saw of the mouse was it was hobbling away towards the footpath/street.

This scene reminds me of a scene from Flubber with Robin Williams in it.
Basically he sprayed some of this chemical on bowling balls and golf bowls and they started bouncing up really high. They even managed to hit some crooks who were peeping on him. :laugh

I'm actually so bored of my presentation I'm writing at the moment, I actually decided to have a good look around PC for the first time in a month or so. What happened to it? :facepalm

Bought this DVD last night called 'Benaud to Border'. Highlights of Australian Test cricket from the late 1950's to the end of the 1970's. All old ABC footage. Seen a bit of Benaud, Davidson, Sobers, Worrell and May so far. $9.

I'm writing a cv at the moment, and I'm slightly unsure of what goes in one. I've only had to write one to apply for a scholarship before, but never for a job, and I know that different stuff go in different types of cvs.

So far I've just got my academic record over the past few years, and any significant awards or achievements that I've had (be it academic, cultural, sporting or community-related). I'm not too sure what else I'm supposed to put in. Do I write a personal statement? And if so what sort of things do I put in it?

I understand that cvs are different all around the world so what some people recommend may not be what is preferred in NZ but I would like to see what people recommend.

(I just realised this should probably go in the employment thread... oh well)

Anything that you think would be important for your potential employer, languages you speak, experience in that sort of area (or any other area) and also anything worth mentioning like highlights of when you met school.

My mum sent me what she thought was the best CV she had ever received was and it was basically a time line of the woman she graduated, her work since then, setting up a charitable school in Africa in her spare time.

So your kind of trying to sell yourself, but of course don't lie otherwise you could get caught out.

Thanks for that :)

I've been looking around online for things related to NZ cvs but my situation is slightly different to usual. The online resources are all about people who are responding to advertisements, whereas my uncle has just told me he may be able to get me a job at his work, and to get him a copy of my cv.

I've included important highlights, I think I'll just write a paragraph or something on why I would be a good employee.

Although I'm probably not in the right place of mind to answer a serious question currently; its also dependent on the type of job applicant you are.

If you've just left school or haven't had major work experience as of yet big up your achievements thus far in school/university and try to show that the two are transferable to real life skills ie in you have experience working within groups.

I would have posted mine but I have no idea where I've saved it.

I'm in my first year of uni and have no work experience (apart from some community work) so i've got my results from this year and last year on there (which are pretty impressive to be perfectly honest :p)

No idea what you did in NZ, but I would include your secondary school results. For example I would have my IB results (or predicted results at the moment).

Duh. Season 4 was epic.

I love that show! I think it is so awesome that the writers can make you sympathize with a serial killer!
Which season are you at?

I am only at Season 2 atm, But its been an amazing one so far. The acting, the storyline, everything is just perfect.

And I have to write a CV too. Plan on doing some Part-time work during the weekends or something, but I am basically starting from scratch with no previous experience. If someone has any student-type CV please let me know. Thanks.
