Random Thoughts

You guys must realize that to get out of India you have to be ridiculously smart, and to be ridiculously smart, you are usually pretty nerdy/introverted.

That's actually quite interesting, I am actually always up for improving my intelligence about other cultures. Why is that? I know that their are problems now in India (and other middle-east countries) where all the smartest people have left their respective countries to improve their standard of living as they could do better off, and now some of these countries are really struggling with some of the 'less able' and wanting these people who moved to come back.

First off, India isn't in the middle east ;).

It isn't really about leaving India for the sake of leaving India. That's not the point. Almost all Indians that I know may have problems with the traffic/poverty/corruption but in the end they are proud to be Indian and are pretty sad to leave. It is usually that the smartest people get picked up by multinational companies that then transfer them overseas. Or, smart students apply and get accepted to top universities abroad. There are plenty of smart (intellectually and socially) people who prefer to stay in India. I know there are plenty of students on this very forum who are quite intelligent and have no aspirations of moving abroad. There are also a lot of guys who go back after making money abroad to start up companies back in India, or start non-profit organizations. My personal goal in life is to start a hospital chain in India, Asia, and hopefully a few in the USA (there's a lot of red tape here, i'm sure there is in India as well though).

I know that my dad wants to go back. He wants to go take care of his parents.

No I know that, but it is a problem that the middle east do suffer from :p. I tried to say that as well as India, it happened in the Middle East, rather than saying India was in the Middle East.

Anyways, I am so sick and tired of election season. If I get one more phonecall from snot nosed, full of Sh-- republicans I'm going to snap. These tea partiers think they're soooo patriotic when they are the ones that are pulling back this great nation.

It isn't looking good for the Dems though. They don't know how to sell stuff to the public. Only 8% of Americans know that Obama is looking to cut taxes for 98% of the people.

Grr... The republicans are going to take the house for sure. Senate I think will stay with the Democrats but it isn't looking good.

I was sooooo proud to be an American the day Obama was elected. I still have so much faith in him but why are others so short sighted? Give change a chance!

Yea I know how you feel, I get so angry reading the news nowadays. The worst part is that 90% of these Tea Party idiots are voting against their own interests, they are brain washed poor people mostly.

anyways, just found out the mosque next to my house has tape-ball cricket under lights every Sunday night, going to check it out today, hopefully get to play a bit, havent played since I quit real cricket a few months ago.

^I have played a lot tape ball cricket. Its a lot of fun. It has been ages since I have played any sort of cricket :noway

I went, it was for kids lol, The only people above 12 were me and the imam dude. Was fun but obviously not going to be the recreational league type thing I was looking for :(

Hahaha you just felt slightly out of place :p

The people there might know of other cricket leagues though. Did you ask them?

I played in the main league for years, its proper cricket though. I was looking for something a bit more relaxed. I know some Uni guys who play on the campus soccer fields, that is where I will look next.

It is fun to play with kids though, they are easily impressed :p

So it is 2:11 AM and I can't sleep. I went to bed at 9:30. i hate it when this happens.

Random thought of the night - how many pillows do you guys use when you sleep? I've got two but one (or both) usually fall on the ground as the night goes on. I actually find sleeping on my arm to be the most comfortable position! Although it is not working tonight!

I think it is just too hot to be a November night. Considering turning the fan on, but fear i might freeze to death as the temperature drops more.

Wow that's a long time trying to get to sleep. I've got a double bed so I have a pillow on each side :) I would have thought sleeping on your arm would restrict circulation...

^Well I have to tell a few stories to my little baby before I go to sleep. I have to make up two or three stories every night and he loves Mr beans stories. I fall asleep telling the story with him in my arms :). He is two and very fond of Mr Bean.

It does. I hate the mornings when I wake up and realise I spent the whole night on my arm...

One pillow at Uni, usually 2 at home.

Haha. I usually have about 6 pillows on my bed progressively piled till they reach a comfortable position.

Hate when I can't get to sleep quickly or when you feel like your never going to get to sleep because then you start turning over and over which makes things worse.

Do you get it where you wake up and you can't feel your arm at all and when you touch it it's gone cold? And it's hard to move it and when you do manage to it feels really weird? Or is there something wrong with me :/

Yea, it gets really annoying. It normally happens to me only when it's summer and it's really hot, or if I'm nervous about something.
