ironically, the first thing gifted to him by the CM of maharashtra was a Skin Lightening cream.

:lol

Just hope Obama makes it back safe
We Mumbaikars are just troubled during these days. Barack Obama has spoiled our Diwali. We can't burn much crackers, can't come out of our houses as Taj, the hotel where he is living is very close. Even the roads are closed.

I don't know why there is so much hype. Its good that he is coming to our nation, but India is just over-doing the security things. He will obviously get back to America safely. :p

Also, the TV signals and internet today morning were cut off so that no footage of Obama's visit is reached to the common man. I find all such things pathetic.

It's not our fault it's so unsafe there.

Not at all. We live here and know that its not unsafe at all. You can't say a place unsafe just due to one terrorist attack. Going by that, America becomes the most unsafe place. :p

I agree that India's condition is not very good, but its not bad either. Such huge security wasn't needed.

whilst i agree the security is OTT, this visit marks a significance in indian politics. Historically, we've always been begging other nations for Money, technology and resources. such visits were always a one-way traffic. But right now, the most powerful country in the world is actually seeking help from india and other asian countries to stabilize their economy and reduce the unemployment which is at 9.5%(one of the main reasons why he faced lot of flak during the mid-term elections). With the rapidly growing indian economy and us being the worlds largest democracy, we can bargain a good 50-50 deal and increase the ties with the US govt. like never before.

I am waiting for what Obama says on India's bid for a permanent UNSC seat. He parried the issue by terming it "complicated" before embarking on Air Force One. I think we all are expecting him to clear the air on this in the next two days. It will be a perfect round-off to what I foresee as a successful visit, benefitting both the countries economically and technologically (regardless of the 24x7 Obama bashing by our ████ media just for the reason that his speech didn't have the mention of 'Pakistan' :sarcasm) If we are to allow FDI and pry open our lucrative market to USA-based companies, I don't think it will be wrong for us to ask for something in return from the US (like the UNSC seat)

Your misinformed here. its the BJP that criticized obama of not mentioning PAK in his speech. Rajiv Pratap Rudy held a press conference expressing 'Disappointment' of not striking a chord! :facepalm

If Obama really wanted to make a difference he would tax the ████ out of companies that give our jobs to Indians and give them incentive to keep jobs here.

It's pretty damn safe, homie

btw: So, what has Obama done so far?

A lot. So much for 'not doing anything in the first 2 years of his presidency'. Still can't get over the fact that idiot republicans are back in position so soon.

My comment isn't homophobic in the slightest, hes actually gay as in homosexual and he actually thinks he can do anything and use it as an excuse. I dont dislike him because hes gay though.

"there was this guy who because hes gay (actually gay as in likes men not the annoying gay) thinks hes gods gift"

Point 1: " not the annoying gay". Calling someone gay because they are annoying, is very homophobic. Though I understand it is commonly used at your age, that doesn't make it acceptable here.
Point 2: The implication that because he is gay he thinks he is God's gift. Is also very homophobic. Remember, all generalisations are bad.

It's also noteworthy my post was a statement and not a question.

If the above quote from your post actually read:

"there was this gay guy who was really annoying me today as he thinks he's God's gift"

I wouldn't have batted an eyelid and you wouldn't have gotten yourself in to this.

On point two though, it's not rose who's making the generalisation, it's the guy in question. And it's not really a generalisation if that person actually thinks that he is God's gift.

Right, ever since he came out he has got suddenly really big headed hence why i put the gay bit. I dont mean to upset or annoy anyone though.
