Most creative video on youtube.

That video is incredibly old. Saw it ages ago.

Just watched a 5 part BBC series on The Diary of Anne Frank. Very well directed/acted and represented. They hardly embellished or exaggerated the actual text.

Reading the actual diary itself is one of the most bone chilling experiences ever. Also makes you realize how stupid today's kids are, you would be hard pressed to find a 13 year old today who can write as she did.

Something I've never done. Just started Birds without Wings, but I'll try and read it after that.

You should, in fact there are quite a few books on the Holocaust and WWII that should be required reading for humanity. Exodus is another one that everyone should read.

"It’s a wonder I haven’t abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.

It’s utterly impossible for me to build my life on a foundation of chaos, suffering and death. I see the world being slowly transformed into a wilderness, I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too, I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more" - July 15, 1944

In fairness about 1/4 of kids 13 or above can write like that they just don't show it or need to.

there has to be reputation in the 1st place in order for it take a blow :p

He had one, in my mind, as have I have seen his posts in forums you don't visit, but he has just ruined it by telling me that 1/4 of 13 year old's would have the maturity to write;

"I haven't written for a few days, because I wanted first of all to think about my diary. It's an odd idea for someone like me to keep a diary; not only because I have never done so before, but because it seems to me that neither I - nor for that matter anyone else - will be interested in the unbosomings of a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl. Still, what does that matter? I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart."

Is just insane. Especially whilst going through all the trauma she went through as a 13 YEAR OLD! You really have shown how ignorant and naive you are.

On a different note, found this quite funny 'On a scale from Anne Frank to Osama Bin Laden how good was my hiding spot?'

Incredible. I can't believe living with all of the fear of being found and all that was going on in the world, she still managed to believe everything would turn out Ok. To still have the belief that people are still "truly good at heart" amazes me.

Has anyone seen or heard the arguments about the red remembrance poppies?

Makes me reevaluate my general attitude and lack of faith in humanity. If someone in her position can still see beauty in the world then what right do I have to be jaded and cynical.

That was a beautiful passage Ollie, if only she knew that BILLIONS of people would be reading her words.
