and hopefully now that I am a University student again, i will be able to contribute to the stories of drinking and debauchery next year :)

The second one never happens. There's a Facebook 'like' page (Godforsaken things) that says 'When a couple of pints turns into a kebab and not remembering a thing the next day'.

I don't know. It wasn't really the same the second time what with being a grad student and lesson plans etc.
Sure you'll find a way though...

Yea I was being cheeky. I don't really drink much and I am giving up pot this weekend so I can be stone sober for at least 2 months before Uni starts.

Also being a few years short of 30 and out of shape, I can't afford to take on too much beer nowadays. 30 is the finish line, if I don't get in shape by then, I never will.

stayed reasonably sober tonight. at one point i did do 5 shots at once due to a mate having no money (said mate is in town somewhere, 7 of us left my house. 7 were meant to sleep there. one has been lost) but by my standard I'm fine.

bumped unto some lads I know through poker (that is to say one who works in the casino with me, and one who I know through playing against him in home games and dealing to him in the casino) and told them about saturday. I assumed they would back me up. they did not. both are serious poker players, but said I made the wrong decision. balls.

so basically even the people I know who are better at poker/take it more seriously than me said I made the wrong choice. I was counting on them to back me up.

anyway we are having a joint birthday party for two of the housemates on saturday. That girl is attending. let's see what happens. I'd put my chances of getting anywhere at about 50-1 right now. not sure whether to proper try and go for her or to just be a normal person at a party talking to people I don't know...

Thanks Colin

Well I am getting certified to teach k-12 (as in all grades) in social studies and history but I am aiming to teach Senior (12th grade) history and political science as its almost collegiate level in AP (advanced placement) highschool classes. Also I will be coaching baseball.

Congrats!! I am taking AP Government as a senior right now and the teacher is easily the most energetic, passionate, and dedicated teacher I have ever had. The class is so much fun, and for once we actually learn stuff that is not only interesting but affects us every day.

I'm sure you will be a great teacher, Mark! Or should I say, Mr. Mark :p.

Coach Mark, cause I'll be coaching baseball and possibly football :)

AP Government and AP History were the best classes I had in highschool also. I never took the AP tests so I had to take the equivalents in college and my high school class was way better. The teacher was just as knowledgeable and there were only 20 students, not 300 like at Uni.

AP courses at good school districts are fun, especially since the students are eager to learn.

That's not true, with some work you can still do it and I have seen a personal change like this in my family. My uncle who is just over 40 went on Biggest Loser Asia in October last year and at the start of December he is going to be doing the Phuket 70.3 Ironman.

This is his journey: YouTube - Fat Loser to Lycra.wmv

Imma be an engineer and fix/build things. Work my way up to management. If that fails, cricket writing/commentating/coaching.

That's the dream
:thumbs

Teaching's pretty cool too though. Game Development is epic but could be hard to make a solid living off.

If you passed your driving test, you're safe in your career. :P

@SS: Lol, A degree in Game development is awesome. I'm still figuring myself out with a6 game studio :p, But working your ass out in it, just for a while though, will win you big time bucks.

I must still be drunk because I just understood everything in my quantum mechanics lecture.

Very happy with my exam scores. 91% average for maths, topped the year level for English with a 100% average, 96% for science, 100% for history and 84% for Literature, which is a year 11 subject (I'm in year 10).

Quite a good haul and I just got back from Harry Potter. Absolutely loved it!

Nerd :p

lol jk

But those are seriously good marks. You got full marks for your essays in English and History?

I'll stick a fiver on lightning striking twice.
