Random Thoughts

I did 3 and it was manageable. Physics, Math, Chem.

I had friends who did 4 and managed really high grades overall.

I supposed 5 would be possible, especially if you have 1 or 2 commerce subjects (Business and Eco A Level students were virtually free all day)

You did Psychology right? I've looked at some of the material and it doesn't seem especially difficult, but people do say there is a lot of work and things to be memorised. I'm thinking of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English L/L possibly with Psyh aswell.

A/S level Psych wasn't hard. Our teacher just gave us tons of work, it was fairly simple otherwise as long as you knew all the case studies inside out and were clear with the concepts.

Dropped Psych for A levels though, so don't know what they did then. Do know kids who did it though.

I did 5 A levels but I think it'd be kinda different cos I did them in NZ. Workload wasn't too bad though.

I must be one of the shortest here (excluding all the young ones). I'm 5 foot 6 and a bit.

Meh, 5 '11. I wanna be 6 foot though. Nice round number

Speaking of numbers, something in math is pissing me off.

You have a sequence (aq)^n-1

You have to find if it is convergent as n approaches Infinity.

It's simple enough. If q is a decimal it approaches 0, if q=1 it approaches a, q=0 it approaches 0, q any integer but not 1 or -1 it approaches Infinity, and if q is negative it alternates.

Then it gets annoying. They're saying that if q is -1, it'll alternate between a and -a. That's correct. But then they say this if q=-1, and a=0 it diverges. Why? Doesn't it converge to 0? Apparently it's convergent if a is anything but 0, which is wrong as well as it's supposed to be alternating...

I almost didn't wanna believe you, but I couldn't figure out what you'd get out of it... so.

well you can't dunk...

I'm only 5'5.

Nah just kidding midget, I'm 6'1 :p
You'll be happy to know the weather's quite good down here, not hot and rainy like Auckland. Knowing Dunedin weather though it'll probably be pissing down on Christmas day, but Mosgiel is always hotter for some reason even though it's basically just a suburb of Dunedin.

haha it's cos I'm Chinese :p When I go back to HK or China I'm slightly above average height lol

That's nice. I saw on the news it was only around 20 degrees during the day which would be nice. Hopefully the weather holds :)

haha my friends find it a bit strange that I like cricket and they don't and they're caucasian. I don't really associate greatly with Chinese culture though. Don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, though I can understand food terms in Cantonese :p

Oh that's annoying. Apparently up here it's supposed to be wet until Christmas Day which is supposed to be sunny :/

I'm in HK atm and have not met one single Chinese person who plays cricket...never have actually.

Cantonese Chinese or Mainlander?
