indeed, my friends mug up books, sweat in tension (of exams and even ECs), act like total nerds, and call it stress. I don't do this farce and I'm stress-free. And I still get enough grades/marks to earn praises.

Well aren't you all that and a bag of chips. :p And I'm not complaining of the actual grades. Its the extra stuff that is the killer, I regret filling my plate up with SO MUCH stuff. Ever try to get research paper published? Worked on a project that tested ayurvedic oils for anti inflammatory properties... 4 months in I realize that the concentrations are too high so they killed the cells. 3 months later I notice that one of the oils are actually PRO-inflammatory...:facepalm

Urg, final few hours of being 20 :( I hate how I always get uni exams on and around my birthday, totally kills the mood having to postpone my party a couple of weeks so people can actually sit exams sober! :(

TIME IS GOING TOO FAST!!!!!
Uncle Tom?

:D

I'm perplexed as to how this thread manages to seemingly pass from College back to "Tommy Tanks" back to how stressful life is then returning to drunken "Tommy Tanks"... without anyone batting an eyelid.

To sum up, I love this thread. If I could have every post of it tattooed onto me I wouldn't but I'd give it alot of consideration.

TBH, I don't know. Firstly, India doesn't have that education system where we could have been offered challenging projects in high school. And secondly, I ain't in my final year, just the 10th grade. :p
But, I'd have loved it if someone would have given me a project to research in physics.

Anyways, best of luck for that project (it seems really annoying, but then too, I'm not planning to go medical, so I think I don't really know :p)

This is a pure misconception. Just because of a handful of bad schools and corrupt officials, India has a bad reputation regarding the education system.

It isn't structurally bad, I'd say but the mentality of people has blighted it.

I second that.

I've been 21, for what.....roughly 24 minutes? I just got a private message on fb from a pretty hot chick who I used to like loads before joining the "I'm taken" world saying would I like my secret birthday present from her today. It's gonna be a good year :yes

when are you going to make your college decision?

I have interviews for some pretty competative programs coming up. If I get in, I have more consideration to do, if not, University of Michigan for me!

Don't go to Harvard.

I heard a kid got bullied there so bad that he went to like his local community college the next year.

Didn't even apply to Harvard. I had to take SAT IIs and didn't feel like it at all. Plus I don't think I have a shot... don't have a 4.0 and i'm Asian. :noway Damn B (89%!!!) in sophomore bio will haunt me forever :p Already rejected from a program because of it

Btw happy birthday Tom. I think it is safe to say that 21 is the last year you can muck around so go all out! :D
