Civil Defence have confirmed there is a threat of a tsunami to New Zealand, but the threat is still 10 hours away. They will be monitoring the threat through the night.

The US tsunami monitoring centre has widened a warning to virtually the entire Pacific coast, including New Zealand, Australia and South America, after a massive earthquake in Japan.

Just watching the news and getting some live footage from Japan of the tsunami moving inland and it's just immense. Bridges seem to be withstanding the surge. Japan have pretty good infrastructure in place.

The tv footage is just amazing.

It was 8.8 I think it's been confirmed now, but it was 120km away from the shore (10km depth) hence the earthquake, and not much damage from the actual shaking.

Google is quoting that the waves are expected to reach New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, and other areas in a few hours.

Many of the important Kiwi cities are located on the east coast it seems. I can just pray that it doesn't cause that much damage.

It's been predicted that it's not going to reach here (New Zealand) for another seven hours, and when it does it's just meant to be stormy seas.

just typed out a long post about last night then misclicked and lost it so here we go again

had a chance with a girl far fitter than my par. she was actually fit. not "fit for ste like" but actually fit.

and i obv flapped it. partially because the reason I was out was my mate recently got dumped and he wanted to go on blag. so if I, with my track record. got off with this girl, who was unbelievable. it'd ruin him. partially as she was so fit i couldn't believe my luck.

basically the one time I actually thought "yeah I'm not turning her down. ever." I flap it. ah well. managed to give the girl who we have banned from out house a massive swerve. win one lose one.

quite funny that last bit actually. two housemates shook hands so I was instantly suspicious. then one goes to shake my hand and I know they are up to something. he goes "yeah you're my mate" so I shake his hand. then he goes "yeah you've just agreed to meet her" he wanted a wing man for the girl who is banned from out house's mate.

she came over. grabbed me, started trying to dance with me. i basically just ran away. not eve subtly. so the business with the fit girl is probably karma
