Random thought- why are there members who neither post in the Cricket zone forums nor in the Cricket games forums? (e.g. the don) Why would you register if none of those two things interest you?

To be fair to some of them, there's barely been a cricket game released for the last 3 years worth talking about, and most of the cricket chat is infested by... well...

Haha, I don't. Although I do visit there at times. PCPL is only recent. I don't know, honestly I've just been here lately to play mafia with people I know and to spend spare time (although there are obviously better ways).

Now that I think of it, I'm probably here because I'm accustomed to logging in everyday. You could say there are people you'd like to talk to with here as well.

People join to post in certain forums, but over time things change. I first joined here for ICC and then I think I moved into the stories forum, but I don't really post in either of them anymore, and instead I only really post in the leagues forum and about NZ cricket, as well as a few others places now and then.

I'd be happy to discuss like Rugby and Golf here if others wanted to, but I wouldn't go and join a forum for either of them, and I guess that's similar to thedon and others for like soccer/football.

Heh yeah right. Funny how many quite interesting posters have abandoned the cricket chat forum over time. More often than not it bares a painful resemblence to English football forums/boards. Tons of people with no idea what they're talking about

I don't post in any of the old cricket gaming forums anymore and used to be quite active helping and patching. Just the new ones for me.

So whats the plan for when you graduate, Jack?

Plan is to try and get a job in journalism somewhere, preferably sport, but it's just about impossible to do so, haha. Probably gong to have to settle for some local newspaper covering stories no one gives a ---- about.

Will be moving down to London with my girlfriend though, probably into her parent's house in the centre of London first. Not exactly a bad thing when it's 5 stories high and in Marylebone mind you.

The word plush springs to mind With that kind of money, and probably contacts, you're ideally suited to a career into journalism. Contacts and not talent seems to be the main route.
