Random Thoughts

Me too. I like it that way. Being right all the time would get tediously dull... I presume.

I know I've been wrong sometimes, but since I'm aware of those times, I'm technically right.

I think my signature is better than Tom's signature. Discuss.

Nah, because Colin has admitted in person to me that I am always right. Colin is deep down a blue blooded Tory and him and Sureshot secretly sit in the admin forum bowing in front of pictures of David Cameron and the wonderful Maggie Thatcher.

I've had to have my gf change my fb password so that I can actually write this 2,500 word essay for tomorrow. It's not that long, but God it's the most boring topic ever and considering I signed on the dotted line today for my summer placement, the last thing I want to do is be reading books :(

What's it on dude?

I'll see if I can fit it in around my 10,000 word one *has no time for people moaning about poxy 2000 word essays* :cheers

Paracelsus. Heard of him? :p

Well my missus is doing her dissertation so she wasn't exactly hearing any of it either. I think it's just because this is the first essay I have written since about the beginning of December which is why I am struggling to focus. Done 200 words so far though :lol

Yep, pretty sure he's the guy who appears in Shelley's Frankenstein early on?

Don't know much about him though, not 2,500 words worth. Some kind of early day botanist/scientist/chemist/apothercary type I believe?

Yeah difficult to get into the groove when you've been out of it for a while. Once you get a plan drawn up and start writing it should fly out though.

Anything that's 1,000-2,500 words worth just needs a half decent plan and you're done. Chuck in some crap references, and bosh 50-65%.

Yeah that's the boy, I'm impressed you know him, I hadn't heard of him till I started this course. Don't think it helps the title is pretty simple so I'm not having to strain too hard. I'm one of these people who do my best work when under immense pressure. If I'm having an easy ride of things I slack off. Yeah, I've been able to do a 1,000 words per hour before so the length ain't a problem, it's just trying to give a f***.

At the moment, scaring my gerbils by jumping out on them is more fun :p

Haha yeah I'm the same (not the gerbil abuse mind, I'll be anonymously tipping off PETA).

I sat here with a 2000 word essay due in and literally did nothing until about 9am. Then decided I really should do it and promptly bashed out 2000 words before hand-in at 2pm. Uni really is too easy, takes a year too long, and needs to sort itself out.

I totally agree, I spend more time at my job then I do at uni. They could easily condence it into a 2 year course, have us in 5 days a week and still maintain good quality degrees.

Already a 1/4 way through it. Just tore apart one historian for basically forming an opinion on a myth.

Yeah completely, there is no need to saddle students with this much debt. As you say (and I have for years) condense it down and actually make it something worth doing, not a way to pass a few years while you get pissed.

My first two years at uni I reckon I spent more time drunk then sober, it's only been this year I've actually begun to do proper work. I'm just lucky I'm financially pretty good. Then again, call me cynical, but it keeps the unemploment figures down having thousands of extra students in university as opposed to in the job market.

Also, 1/3 of the way done :D

Can't believe you are complaining you want uni shorter. As far as I'm concerned, the more time we get to drink the better.
