Considering some of the names parents give their kids these days, the stuff a little kid would choose are often better. But why would someone not have a middle name up until then?

As a school kid I often wanted a different last name to stop being discriminated against by the use of 'alphabetical' order.

It wasn't the alphabetical order dude, it was the fact you smelt like mouldy cheese and have eyes on the side of your head (I assume that avatar is actually you).

What do you mean until then? Her mother just decided when she was born that she could pick her own middle name when she was old enough. They really are pointless though, seriously, why does anyone need a middle name?!?

Well I always thought you had to put a middle name on the form, so it'd be odd for someone to only have a first and last name without a middle name until turning 5.

Unless they were Mia Placeholder Vaughan up until that point...

Haha, to be honest I don't think they serve a purpose anymore.

My mind still hasn't recovered from the correct way to open a banana video. Still not sure I can ever trust my parents ever again.

None of my immediate family have middle names. I think I chose Alan to be mine was so my initials were JAW.

Mine is named in memory of my dead cousin, and it is very wrong that I have used it to play the sensitive card when chatting up women. So I'm a bad guy, somebody shoot me!

he tried to get people to call him Veloca as a nickname.

Giving yourself a nickname undoubtedly fails. We had a guy come to American Football and said "You can call me V." He became "Drippy".
