Retirements Thread - Virat, Rohit and Jadeja T20Is

As much as I hate this carny behavior from Amir, tbf to him, Misbah and Waqar are pretty shite. Especially Waqar, man had two tries before and failed spectacularly, but he's still there. Misbah just doesn't seem like the right fit for the role he is in right now. Amir shouldn't be doing this tho. It's like he's trying to play a power move without having any actual power, and forcing Wiki and Mis out.

Completely agree - But Aamir has been painfully mediocre in the games he's played barring the occasion game here and there. What would possibly warrant him a place consistently when we have younger paces looking to take wickets.

I have a feeling he will come back - they all do. Give it 6 months - if that. He will be in the squad for the T20 World Cup coming up.

Very happy Amir has retired. He is being wasted and I hope he gets a UK passport and plays in the IPL!!!

I want to ask my Pakistani friends one question-

What do you guys feel about Waqar Younis? Keep the posts limited to after his playing days. I'm not interested in knowing his bowling credentials, even his harshest critic would say he's one of the greatest.

Faf du Plessis announces retirement from Test cricket to focus on other formats.
His Johannesburg knock was as special as the one at Adelaide. This great player would be missed by the Proteas team. Btw I got to know that apart from his 199 against Sri Lanka he averaged 14.5 in last 14 innings. Probably age just took over him or he was just terribly out of touch.

Has been on an extended decline for quite some time in test cricket but given that he's still class in white ball cricket, probably has to do with the change in his role from a supporting player in the middle order to a top order batsman and the star. Faf never was really such a player.

The one thing that I'll miss about him is his leadership. Not everyone would have been able to lead a team in decline with the grace he did with a storm of controversies brewing and given that his predecessors all had issues with race, quota and cliques, Faf did an admirable job uniting the team under one cause.

BJ Wattling retiring after the WTC final

Probably the greatest wicket-keeper(Test) of the last decade. Congratulations to him for having a wonderful career. He was quite underrated tbh!!!!

Edit:
If ever he got out that day back in 2014 in a Test match at Basin Reserve, I would've held nothing against him. :p
