I feel like Stokes might just come back for the World Cup next year, and then retire from ODIs again.
The good ol’ AB de Villiers move.

ECB is planning to make a contract with Boult.Trent Boult has pulled out of his central contract with the NZ Board.
He has signed up for the UAE league, so will skip a good chunk of the NZ home season. Not a retirement per se.. but Trent Boult has pulled out of his central contract with the NZ Board. This essentially gives him the freedom to pick and choose his series if he desires and also means that the board doesn’t have to pick him in most games. I expect him to retire in the white ball formats after the respective World Cups and to skip out of the few rare test series overseas that NZ play anyways.
I don’t think they’ll be able to replace him easily at all. There is no left-arm pacer in contention for a call-up and after a period of time where he looked like the weakest out of the four pacers, Boult had been back to his best. I’d even argue that there is no replacement that is even in the same ballpark at the moment. If anything this should force them to select Ajaz as a regular in every game but we all know how the NZ management rolls.

Had he focused a little more on the game, he would have been the number one finisher for us in today's date.
I can clearly remember how many times have him and dhoni saved India from a total collapse, and then converted it into a decent total to live by.

I guess this domestic retirement has a lot to do with him taking on a role in Joburg SK or whatever they are called. Am expecting MSD to follow suit now
