ROUND 2: Group 2:- India (squiz) vs West Indies (madmattg)

MATCH UPDATE: 10 Overs
--------------------------------------------------
The Indians were sent into bat on a pitch supporting both batting and bowling.

But the openers from India took full advantage of the two men outside the circle, hitting hard and fast, and scoring at over a run a ball.

Only one wicket has fallen, that of Virendar Sehwag, from the bowling of Carl Hooper. But other than that West Indies have had a tough first 10 overs.

West Indies will need to bowl the Indian team out, as the Indians are not looking like they will slow down at any moment. While the Indian batsmen will try to lose as little wickets as possible.

Are you all having trouble remembering what teams you're using or something? ! :)

MATCH UPDATE: 20 Overs
--------------------------------------------------
The introdction of Drakes payed off, claiming the wicket of VVS Laxman for only 25, but the dangerman Tendulkar still is at the crease and looking more dangerous than ever before.

The West Indian spin attack is not stemming the flow of runs, move bowling poor line and length, and getting smashed in the process.

West Indies look like they are in for a long day in the field, while the Indians are coasting to a 350+ score.

Full Stats:
---------------------
India: 2/168 (20 overs) 8.4 per over

BATTING:
Sachin Tendulkar: 72* (60) [S/R: 120.0]
Virendar Sehwag: 31 (32) [S/R: 96.8]
VVS Laxman: 25 (21) [S/R: 119.0]
Sourav Ganguly: 24* (19) [S/R: 126.3]

BOWLING: (overs, maidens, wickets/runs)
Carl Hooper: 9 - 0 - 1/79 (8.78 RPO)
Mahendra Nagamootoo: 4 - 0 - 0/25 (6.25 RPO)
Vasbert Drakes: 4 - 0 - 1/40 (10.0 RPO)
Ramnaresh Sarwan: 3 - 0 - 0/24 (8.0 RPO)

cos you wrote

Australia: 1/83 instead of india :)

looks like your going well

I never run on leg byes. So that is cool with me.

Man my poor spin bowlers. West Indies thought a plan of attack moving away from the old power house speed attack would allow a reduced total, but that does not lool like the case.

The team trainers are breaking open the Anthony Robbins videos as we speak. We need to gee them up mun, and Unleash the power within, its be look'n like Lara mun will beez look'n to smash there attack outta the grund.

(ok I know poor attempt at the accent )

MATCH UPDATE: 30 Overs
--------------------------------------------------
Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar got the ball rolling till Ganguly was comprehensively bowled by Nagamootoo.

Dravid was very cautious early on batting very slow and was given an early life in his innings being dropped on only 2 runs by the bowler, but built his innings up hitting hitting 3 consecutive boundaries nearing the 30 over mark.

And it couldn't of ended better for the Indians with Tendulkar bringing up another One Day ton in the 30th over.

Full Stats:
---------------------
India: 3/264 (30 overs) 8.8 per over

BATTING:
Sachin Tendulkar: 108* (88) [S/R: 122.7]
Virendar Sehwag: 31 (32) [S/R: 96.8]
VVS Laxman: 25 (21) [S/R: 119.0]
Sourav Ganguly: 45 (32) [S/R: 140.6]
Rahul Dravid: 30* (26) [S/R: 115.4]

BOWLING: (overs, maidens, wickets/runs)
Carl Hooper: 10 - 0 - 1/90 (9.0 RPO)
Mahendra Nagamootoo: 7 - 0 - 1/58 (8.29 RPO)
Vasbert Drakes: 7 - 0 - 1/66 (9.43 RPO)
Ramnaresh Sarwan: 5 - 0 - 0/37 (7.4 RPO)
Mervyn Dillon: 1 - 0 - 0/14 (14.0 RPO)

This total looks like it will be massive.

I will definately have to concentrate whilst batting.

Hopefully you will be finsihed before I leave work at 5:30pm.

That way gives me a chance to chase tonight. Tomorrow is Survivor and CSI so I dont really do squat but watch TV.

Wednesday off though so I always have all day then.

I will need the patience.

West Indies trainers have thrown out the Anthony Robbins videos and are in the midst of flying him in. Luckly he was on the Gold Coast doing a Date with Destiny talk.

At a million dollar price tag the team is going to great lengths to bring their hopes back up.

I checked out the patch and still found the spinners bowled better than the pace men.

My favourites at the moment are swing bowlers though the movement is fierce at times.

I was doing some calculations and you are heading for an extreme 450+ to 500 score.

Holy Cr*p batman.

MATCH UPDATE: 40 Overs
--------------------------------------------------
This time Dravid and Tendulkar were the two batsmen who punished the West Indian bowlers. They scored at a mammoth 11.8 RPO in this 10 over period.

Tendulkar brought up his 150 and Dravid brought up his 50 in this 10 overs. They were really in sintilating touch.

Youvraj and Tendulkar will be trying to get the score over 450, while all West Indies will be able to do is sit and watch if they don't get early wickets.

Full Stats:
---------------------
India: 4/382 (40 overs) 9.6 per over

BATTING:
Sachin Tendulkar: 166* (125) [S/R: 132.8]
Virendar Sehwag: 31 (32) [S/R: 96.8]
VVS Laxman: 25 (21) [S/R: 119.0]
Sourav Ganguly: 45 (32) [S/R: 140.6]
Rahul Dravid: 60 (50) [S/R: 120.0]
Youvraj Singh: 16* (7) [S/R: 228.6]

BOWLING: (overs, maidens, wickets/runs)
Carl Hooper: 10 - 0 - 1/90 (9.0 RPO)
Mahendra Nagamootoo: 10 - 0 - 1/87 (8.7 RPO)
Vasbert Drakes: 10 - 0 - 2/106 (10.6 RPO)
Ramnaresh Sarwan: 9 - 0 - 0/86 (9.6 RPO)
Mervyn Dillon: 1 - 0 - 0/14 (14.0 RPO)

Robbins is in the house and even he is listening to motivational chants to get ready for the g up.

Although he doesnt understand the game, the trainers have explained its like 5 Wilt Chamerlains on the court with 5 Michael Jordans on the bench and your playing a high school team.

With old Banana hands looking with a glazed look of horror he went straight to his books, look for a story of triumph to bring the Windies out of dispair.

I hope you all know who Anthony Robbins is. THe big jawed motivatinal speaker from the US.

aka Shallow Hal the guy in the elevator.
