The lack of specialist batsmen has certainly cost us in the FC format, although the all-rounders have more often or not been the ones to salvage a decent score mainly thanks to Trent. We only have 2 batsmen who have averaged over 40 and have suffered from batsmen making starts but not going on to score big. Had we had one extra quality batsman, we could have been in a far stronger position, rather than having to rely on other results to go in our favour, which is where we currently are now. It's no coincidence that the two teams most likely to meet in the final, each only field one all-rounder in their line ups.
The other side of the coin though, is that we are a strong team in the one-day formats because of the options the all-rounders give us and players like Markkk and Tikolo have proved very useful with the ball when required.
