Run outs

I'm playing on 360 console. I haven't had a single run out versus comp. Not even a close one where it would be reviewed to third umpire. No mix ups with both batsmen ending up in one crease. Wasn't there more run outs pre first patch?

Before patch 2.5 on consoles AI used to throw away wkts due to run outs every innings, and since the patch there aren't any run outs. If we aren't able to find a happy balance I would prefer the current scenario as getting cheap AI wkts via run outs is more frustrating than not getting any.

I'm more annoyed with my batsman just carelessly walking out of the crease and being stumped. The worst thing is there's nothing I can do about it other than rage.

That is due to AI Fielders are very Lazy , need Improvement of there throw and fielding.

That's not the way to solve this issue. See BLC99 as an example. I don't know why it's so hard to balance run outs and stumps in a 2014 / 15 cricket game.

When you think about BLIC 99 you sometimes have to wonder how far ahead it was for its time and what slow progress cricket gaming has made since then. Thankfully we are on the right track with Big Ant.

I don't think it was far ahead for it's time as there were other sports games out at that time that recreated those respective sports just as well.

What Codemasters did do well and so many others have failed to do, Big Ant included, is get the basics right. DBC is in my opinion better than what has come out since overall and have been revolutionary in some areas, but there are still things that other games did better and I do wonder whether if DBC didn't have the career mode would we be rating it above EA2005 for example? There's no doubt Big Ant are on the right track but there are some glaring issues which to my knowledge would be quite easily solved but as yet have failed to be addressed.

The very fact a cricket game was on par with other sports based games itself shows how far ahead of its time it was. Since then cricket gaming genre has only gone backwards. Hopefully it will be back on par with Big Ant at the helm.

Yes there are some issues with DBC, which were expected TBH given DBC 14 was the first iteration of the franchise. What we are lucky to have for the first time is a developer who's keen to work with its most important stakeholder (customers) to fix the issues and build a long term franchise.
