SATs

I'll be doing Media, Business, ICT and something, then dropping something at the end of AS.

I don't mean to scare you but a few universities look down on some of those choices. You could have made better choices imo. English Lit > Media. Economics > Business. Computing > IT .

Fair enough. Economics > Business. Computing > IT. But I am doing Media.

a). I want to be a journo
b). I HATE Shakespeare

I can guarantee you that Media is the single easiest subject in the world, and one of the most enjoyable.

I have been doing it for a year now - advertising and film was a bit boring but my practical production next year should be fun.

Yeah, but English Lit is better to get you into Journalism than Media itself. It is easier than Lit though, I grant you that.

Yeah Lit is really useful especially as you get furtehr up the school. But everyone has their own preferences, and to be honest uni's don't give a damn about GCSEs it's the A Levels that matter for any half decent course

Exactly, its all balls. The teachers make them look like they will change our life or something.

In the US its huge. It decides what college you go to and stuff. Very, very big.

i got 1850 out of 2400 possible points. And since i was only in the 8th grade when I took it last thats pretty good, imo.
hope to get 2300 or something when i finally decide to quit. Harvard bracket.

Well here they mean nothing to the pupils. It just makes the school look better.

Not exactly. SATs do act as a contribution to the school's place in government league tables, making it 'look better' as you say, but they also give you exam practice for your GCSEs, I wouldn't want my GCSEs to be my first taste of exams in high school! They also help to decide which set you will be in for your subjects for the GCSE course.

They don't just 'make the school look better', but they are an unnecessary hindrance at the time.

Yes, but don't you do end of year exams every year...this is practice for you GCSE's making the SAT's look even more unnecessary.
